Default Dublin signs Norwich deal

Quote:
Norwich City veteran Dion Dublin has signed a new one-year contract.

Peter Grant had been desperate to secure the 38-year-old on extended terms following an impressive season at Carrow Road.

Dublin returned to The Canaries last September, but had been linked with a move to Peterborough United, who are managed by his former Manchester United team-mate Darren Ferguson.

But he has opted to commit his future to Norwich and he is now hoping the club can press for promotion next season.

"I'm very pleased to be re-signing for a club I feel very at home with," Dublin told the club's official website.

"Hopefully, next season can be the successful one we all want as the last one wasn't. We have the potential, but we have to stop talking about it and do it."

Norwich boss Grant praised Dublin's contribution since his return to the club, with the player operating in both defence and attack.

Grant said: "Everybody saw what quality he had last season and for the first four or five months I was here he has been terrific on and off the field.

"He's a fantastic professional."
