The Twats what ruin the Derby Days...

Quote:
A number of Ipswich fans have been arrested following early morning raids as a result of an on going investigation into a violent incident that occurred late last month.

A number of Ipswich fans have been arrested following early morning raids as a result of an on going investigation into a violent incident that occurred late last month.

British Transport Police, backed up by their fellow officers from the Suffolk Constabulary raided a number of addresses in Suffolk following an incident at Ipswich Train station on March 31st involving both City and Town supporters at what was an alleged meet between hooligans.

Around 15 thugs from either side battled with each other as the Norwich bound train pulled into the station at around 8.10pm, during which members of the One Railway staff were also injured, while a number of fans, including woman and children tried to flee from the weapon wielding mob.

A spokesman for the police said that the arrests had come following an extensive investigation into the disorder in March and that all those arrested will be subject to bail conditions which will ban them from travelling down to Carrow Road for Sundays showdown on the train, attending the game and being dealt a 1 mile exclusion zone around Portman Road on match days.

"Extensive investigation into this serious outbreak of disorder led to the identification of 11 suspects. A vast majority of these people have been arrested today in coordinated raids in Suffolk and Bedfordshire.

"The arrests are for conspiracy to cause violent disorder. Ten suspects have been taken to Ipswich police station. One suspect is to be taken to Dunstable police station and will then be transferred to Ipswich.

"We will be asking for bail conditions that will ban them travelling by train on any day that Ipswich Town are playing, or being within one mile of Portman Road on the day of any home game and going to any town or city where Ipswich are playing away at."

The trouble even continued as the train was about to leave the station with Town fans attempting to climb through the windows in order to finish what they hard started, resulting in the train executing an emergency stop.

The majority of derby games at Carrow Road (and Ipswich) have gone off peacefully over the past 4 or 5 years, and while the police still feel this will again be the case come Sunday, today's news is sure to raise the temperature in the City that little bit higher for a few 'fans' following either side.

One of them is my brothers best friend, i've known him for ages, i'll admit they're all idiots, way too many police and cctv to get away with any form of hooliganism these days

Yeah same down here, and i'm guessing we'll have a massive police escort as soon as we step off the train too.

Although it's a derby match i still see no reason why it can't be a played on a saturday

I think it's just a standard proceedure now to have it at 12 kick off on a sunday, they'll say they'll get less trouble, but with the masses of police around i'd see no different result if it was 12 kick off on a saturday, but the police are so far up their own arses they wouldn't change it

Darren Huckerby and Dion Dublin are both doubts for Norwich which means their thin squad is further stretched.

Andy Hughes has a groin injury and Lee Croft is struggling with a hip problem, but Jurgen Colin is available again.

Ipswich duo midfielder Owen Garvan and goalkeeper Lewis Price are unlikely to make the short trip to Norfolk.

The pair are struggling with injuries so Shane Supple is set to continue in goal and defender Alex Bruce is available after appealing a ban.

Injured
Hughes
Huckerby (back, late-April)
Dublin (ankle, late-April)
Croft (hip, late-April)
Fotheringham (back, late-April)
Lappin (thumb, late-April)
Doherty (stomach strain, late-April)
Brown (back, late-April)
Safri (hamstring, May)
Chadwick (torn thigh muscle, May)
Marshall (ankle, May)
Thorne (thigh, May)

On loan
Rossi Jarvis (on loan to Rotherham, May)
Fisk (on loan to King's Lynn, May)
Henderson (on loan to Rotherham, May)
Ryan Jarvis (on loan to Leyton Orient, May)
Lewis (on loan to Stockport, May)
McVeigh (on loan to Burnley, May)

Available
Gallacher, Warner, Colin, Shackell, Cave-Brown, Drury, Louis-Jean, Halliday, Eagle, Etuhu, Spillane, Martin, Earnshaw, Renton.

Result: Norwich City 1-1 Ipswich Town

Even Stevens it was then

1st half we dominated and could off been 4-0 up by half time ...we scored 5 mins from kick off with a Etuhu goal ... Huckerby caused so many problems with towns defence but poor finishing came into play and couldn't do sod all

2nd half was dominated by ipswich ..we sat back for ages letting town get there goal to make it 1-1 ..and it had to be Ex Canary loanee David Wright

overall it was poor finishing that let us down ..really should of won this easily

He was average, fell to the floor way to easy, especially when he tried to win a penalty, could've done so much more if he stayed up

Town MOTM has got to be old Fabian, the bloke is an absolute legend, and hates Norwich too

The bopy probably has potential, looked slightly lost in midfield, why didnt huckerby go there and he go up front? Could be a case for saying Martin was part at fault for letting Wright double up on Drury down the wing.

Also he missed an absolute sitter seconds before the equaliser, thought Hughes was surprisingly one of your better players.
