Canaries swoop for Brown

Norwich have completed the signing of Sunderland striker Chris Brown for a £325,000 fee.

Following the big money signing of Anthony Stokes, Sunderland have decided to clear their decks of those on the periphery and Brown, along with Jonathan Stead, has been moved on.

The 22-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half year deal and will be available to make his debut at the weekend against Plymouth at Carrow Road.

Norwich boss Peter Grant is confident that the player will prove to be a valuable addition to his ranks, having been impressed with Brown's physical attributes.

"Chris is a big lad with great technical ability," he told the club's official website.

"It is rare to get the combination and he will offer us something different. He has great experience but also great potential."

It would appear that the admiration is mutual, with Brown looking forward to working under his new taskmaster.

"I am delighted to come to such a good club with an ambitious manager," he concluded.

"It's a great platform for me and I will do my utmost to get Norwich promoted to the Premier League."

Very poor signing.... he has alot and i mean alot to repay all the doubts which has been placed on him already

I am back - but Brown looks a weak signing purely because he has not proved anything at Sunderland. It shows that Peter Grant cannot attract big names despite previous connections.
