Default Chadwick close to Canaries move

Quote:
Norwich City are poised to wrap up a loan deal for Stoke City winger Luke Chadwick.

Canaries boss Peter Grant had been hot on the trail of Chadwick last week, but failed to strike a deal prior to the weekend win at West Brom.

However, the details of the loan transfer have been finalised and Chadwick is set to sign on the dotted line later on Monday

Chadwick, who needs to pass a medical before finalising his contract, worked under Grant at West Ham and is relishing the prospect of securing a move to Carrow Road.

"I'm thrilled to be coming to Norwich. I know Peter Grant from our time at West Ham and Norwich City is a tremendous club," Chadwick told the club's website.

"I was devastated when the move fell through in the summer and I'm delighted to be joining now."

a decent signing there ..he has some decent pace on him and would battle Croft for the right wing spot

Grant has pulled a nice coup here ...Chadwick has basically joined us permentantly its about £200k upfront payment plus another £100k if we get promoted ....its only a loan deal for now till we can properly sign him in the jan window

we also been linked to Derek Riordan of Celtic (Daily Mirror) ..that decent young striker! - Grant has admited he doesnt know were that link came from but will look into him around Xmas time

Chadwick thrilled with move

Quote:
Luke Chadwick has expressed delight at sealing his loan move from Stoke City to Norwich City.

The 25-year-old inked a loan deal until January after passing a medical on Monday morning and he is relishing the prospect of working under Canaries chief Peter Grant.

"I`m thrilled to be coming to Norwich," Chadwick told the club's website. "I know Peter Grant from our time at West Ham and Norwich is a tremendous club.

"I was devastated when the move fell through in the summer and I`m delighted to be joining now."

The capture of Chadwick, which could be made permanent in January, will come as a boost to Grant who lost Lee Croft to injury last month, but Stoke chief Tony Pulis is sad to see the winger move on.

"I'm disappointed to be losing a smashing member of the squad like Luke, but I understand his reasons and the club is doing the right thing by him in the circumstances," said Pulis.

"We looked into all the reasons for his failure to finish so many matches this season, but maybe the real explanation was all his travelling and the distraction of his family."
