Default Vs. Sunderland

Quote:
Norwich boss Peter Grant will consider the fitness of defensive duo Gary Doherty (back) and Craig Fleming (hamstring) before finalising his line up.

Dion Dublin could revert to defence as cover or Grant could play youngster Michael Spillane. Lee Croft (ankle) is out, while Paul McVeigh and Jamie Ashdown have served suspensions which forced them to sit out the midweek draw with Colchester.

Sunderland hope striker David Connolly (hamstring) is fit, while Nyron Nosworthy should also return to the squad after similar trouble.

Ross Wallace is suspended, though, for manager Roy Keane, who is desperate for his side to bounce back from midweek defeat to Cardiff.

Keane: It's going against us

Quote:
Roy Keane feels things are going against his Sunderland side after the 1-0 defeat at Norwich City.

A Robert Earnshaw goal early in the second half settled the issue at Carrow Road, with Keane believing the visitors merited a point.

The Black Cats boss admitted his side were punished and suggested his players are lacking a killer instinct at present.

"We deserved something out of the game, but that is the beauty of football I suppose, that you do not always get what you deserve," said Keane.

"We just have to lick our wounds and get ready for next week.

"The determination and the effort was there, and at half time I thought we were comfortable.

"But that is a dangerous word to use in football because just when you think you are comfortable you get punished.

"You have got to take your chances and it just seems to be going against us at the moment."

Norwich boss Peter Grant was delighted with the display of Dion Dublin, who filled in at centre half in the absence of the injured Gary Doherty and Craig Fleming.

Grant said: "It was a good job Dion was playing because if he was not, we would have lost the game.

"There is no doubt in my mind about that, especially in the second half when he defended the box with his life.

"He was colossal for us in everything he did, his organisation, guiding people about him.

"I am delighted to have him about the squad because he is so valuable, not just in the playing sense.

"Dion is such a great pro, and I said to the boys to learn something from the way he played because if they show the character he did, then we will not go far wrong."

Haha... the only comfort I have these days are that Sunderland sucks big time... just as the other clubs in the northeast.

I am actually member of "Norwich City supporter club of Scandinavia" base Norway, and we are around 100 members. We have our own magazine and in the city of Trondheim (where Rosenborg BK are from) there are supporter meetings when the Canaries plays.

For some reasons I have always sympathized and supported this club...I think we can track it back to the early 90's when they played those legendary yellow and green spots

On The Ball City!

I remember Erik Fuglestad played there. He played for the Norwegian team Viking (who kicked out Chelsea in the UEFA cup some years ago)

I also remember the Danish David Nielsens first match. I think he scored the winning goal against Coventry (2-1) at Carrow Road. What a match he did.

I was close back in 2003, but it were too long distance from Manchester to Norwich with car and we had bad time. The city is a bit mucky when it comes to position too.

However, once in the future I will try to visit the city and see a match. My goal is to visit all the teams I like and support. I've been in Newcastle, Madrid and Bremen...so Norwich is a goal in the future.

David Connolly is blessed with a bad hamstring, he used to suffer from them all the time when he was a teenager at Watford.

I dont think he has done well there yet, Norwich hope he doesnt score, as he is quality at championship level.
