Dual defensive blow for Norwich
Quote:
Peter Grant fears Norwich City's defensive duo Gary Doherty and Craig Fleming could be out until Christmas.
Doherty is carrying a back complaint and Fleming has a hamstring injury, with both players missing Saturday's win over Sunderland.
Canaries boss Grant offered a pessimistic outlook for when the centre halves will be available for selection again.
"It could be Christmas," admitted Grant. "Early December, late December, I don't know.
"Doc has got a problem with his back, but things are not looking good for anything less than November, that's for sure - the same with Flem."
Dion Dublin was pressed into emergency use as a centre half against The Black Cats and produced a man-of-the-match performance.
But, even with Doherty and Fleming sidelined, Grant is thought to want the veteran Dublin to revert back to a striking role.

If Grant choose to use Dublin as a striker instead, what's his option for centre half then?

I remember Dublin played defender against Newcastle not that far in time...and he was outstanding in that match.

we only got a tiny squad so if Grant does want to use Dublin upfront which is a bad mistake for now then i guess Michael Spillane will have to be called upon - Spillane is a pretty decent young player and played for the 1st team last season for about the last 5 games of the season
