Dublin goes back to Norwich
Quote:
Dion Dublin has returned to first club Norwich City on a free transfer.
The veteran striker started out with The Canaries as a trainee, but joined Cambridge United in 1988 without making a first-team appearance.
He has now returned to Carrow Road on a contract until the end of the season after leaving Celtic over the summer.
The Scottish champions had considered re-signing the 37-year-old, while he also held talks with Sunderland earlier this month.
But Dublin has now secured a deal with Norwich, with Nigel Worthington overjoyed to add such experience to his squad.
"I'm delighted to capture such an experienced, quality player who will be a valuable addition to the squad and in the dressing room," the Canaries boss told the club's official website.
"He's a big character and a top quality player whose ability and professionalism will be a big plus for us.
"His main position is as a striker and that's where I'm looking for him to be involved, although obviously he can also provide cover in the centre of defence as well."
Meanwhile, Norwich captain Adam Drury could be sidelined for a further four weeks with an ankle injury.
Drury has missed the club's last two games and will undergo a clean-up operation which will keep him out for three or four weeks.
