Default Green again to leave!

Portsmouth are planning a bid for Norwich City goalkeeper Robert Green.

The England international is considering his future at Carrow Road after The Canaries' relegation from The Premiership.

Green fears that, if he is playing in The Championship next season, his prospects of making England's World Cup squad will be in jeopardy.

Norwich are hopeful of retaining the 25-year-old and admit they are under no pressure to sell any of their players.

But they have conceded they would not block anyone's exit, if a player expresses a desire to move back into the top flight.

That could strengthen Portsmouth's hand in any negotiations after chairman Milan Mandaric confirmed Green is a target for Alain Perrin.

"We have looked at Green and he is on our list," said Mandaric.

"He'd be an investment and if the investment is right we would spend the money."

Pompey are looking for a new keeper after releasing Shaka Hislop at the end of last season, leaving Kostas Chalkias and Jamie Ashdown battling for the number one jersey at Fratton Park.

Fulham have also been linked with Green after losing Edwin van der Sar to Manchester United, with the Norwich keeper likely to cost in the region of £3 million.

ON, OFF, ON, OFF - wish this prob could just be resolved now! Think this one will happen but 3 mill would be very nice to spend to further strengthen the sqaud! 3 mill on our current squad and we wil def be contenders to win the league with hucks n ashton staying

Just got my ticket for the colchester friendly! bring on layer road!ha

Pompey have to be a relegation favourite for next year?
I reckon Green will stay at Norwich unless a big club come along

i think Green may leave now ... this is the only transfer talk about Green moving which seems concrete

plus if we do sell Green .. £3 mill pocketed and hopefully used on our defence and right mid and Paul Gallacher to be finally used
