I heard a Green interview on Radio 5 a few weeks before the end of the season. He said that if we were relegated he would have to leave in order to keep up his push to become England number one.
5 million would be nice - even better would be if we could loan him to a premier league club and then get him back when we are promoted next year.
Ward and Gallacher are both quality keepers for the championship.

from what i have seen of him in the prem he will never be england no.1
i think he is getting ahead of himself by leaving your club....he owes you another season after being a bit averagey this season.

there were some statistics done about half way through the season that actually had him as one of the best keepers in the league. he had so much more to do than any other keeper because our defence was so bad that he actually pulled off a number of amazing saves and was one of our best players again this year.
but compared to Cech he is very average
and i agree with you he owes us more than to leave us now.

Huckerby took a massive pay cut to join us so his loyalties are with his heart
Green in the other hand ..i think he wants to stay ..but he doesnt ..as in he wants to stay cos he likes the club and the club gave him that chance to become a pro ..... and he wants to go to further his career and become 1 of englands finest
good luck to him i say
Paul Gallacher should step up to replace green though
