Young star...
Norwich are reported to be ready to bring Egyptian international Mohamed Shawky to The Premiership.
The youngster has established himself as a key figure for Egyptian side Al-Ahly, with his performances earning him international honours with the North African country.
Shawky has been pivotal in leading Al-Ahly on a 15-game unbeaten run and it would appear as if Canaries chief Nigel Worthington has been alerted to his talents.
The defensive-minded midfielder captained his country in their unsuccessful bid to reach the Olympics and it is being suggested he could well be ready to make the move to a bigger stage.
Egyptianplayers.com suggest Norwich are ready to test Al-Ahly's resolve with a bid believed to be in the region of €1.2 million, an amount which is within Worthington's transfer budget for January.

Would he get a work permit?
Also is it wise to be signing unknown foreigners. He may be good, i dunno, but you should be after players who have experienced the prem and wont need time to adapt.

Is it a position you need, any signing will be good for norwich, but wouldnt it be better going for a goalscorer. Also how old is this guy and how big is your transfer budget for january?

it was all bullcrap..
Worthington was quick to play down one of the more bizarre transfer rumours of the season - that City could be about to pay over £1m for Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Shawky, currently playing for his country's top club Al-Ahly.
"Forget about that one," was the manager's succinct comment on the report on Sky Sports' website.

Good on you
Seeing an Egyptian in the Premiership would make me depressed considering there are no Algerians anymore
