My friend told me that Worthington was at Portman Road this afternoon(or so it said on the radio)

Would he be trying to steal one of our youngsters or looking at a Preston player? Or just got bored and thought he would go watch some football?

Problem solved

Arch rivals Norwich are being linked with a January transfer window raid for highly-rated Ipswich strike duo Darren Bent and Shefki Kuqi.

Canaries manager Nigel Worthington watched the 3-0 home win over Preston on Saturday, and couldn't help but be impressed with the Blues.

Worthington is known to be keen to bring in a striker to bolster his squad in the January transfer window, but Ipswich would be reluctant sellers, particularly while they are going so well in the Championship promotion stakes.

When the club released its financial figures last week, chairman David Sheepshanks said there would be no need to part with any more players this season, due to the club's splendid recovery from administration.

That means that it would take a mega-offer to persuade Town to part with young jewels Bent or Dean Bowditch, and Norwich almost certainly couldn't afford the sort of price tags which would be on their heads.

Kuqi and Counago would be more affordable, but Town would be reluctant to let Kuqi go as he is the only Blues forward who can play the targetman role, but it would be a different story with the high wage earning Spaniard.

Counago, though, is unproven at the top level, having failed to score during Town's 2001-02 relegation season, and Norwich may need someone who has been there and done it to get them out of danger.

norwich cannot afford to buy bent and why would he join a club that will not survive in the prem. ipswich will be going up.

reckon norwich have a good chance of staying up - we are difficult to beat - and once we get our first win under the belt on saturday there will be no stopping us.
Ipswich - a lucky start to the season - outside chance of the play-offs.

On the striker news i think it wd be funny if we nick bent of ipsh*t for a cheap price n he turns into a good player to keep us up, but surely worthy can think of more talented players than the scum front three. Id take about 20 or 30 players before bent n hes the best of their strikers so hopefully the story wont be true.

The "cookie eater" has already scored 7 or 8 goals this season, looking a good player, still has his donkey tendencies
