Shackell is a True Canary
Norwich defender Jason Shackell has signed a new three-year deal to keep him at Carrow Road until 2007.
The 20-year-old defender has only made eight appearances for the Canaries but has impressed boss Nigel Worthington when he has stepped in as cover.
"It's an exciting time for everyone at the club and I'm pleased to be part of it," Shackell told the club's website.
"I feel I made good progress as a player last season and that's something I want to continue in the Premiership."
Shackell has struggled to break into the first team ahead of stalwarts Craig Fleming and Malky Mackay.
But Worthington wants to build a squad with plenty of depth for his first Premiership campaign.
"Jason is a player with potential and I'm delighted we have sorted out a new contract for him," Worthington told the club's website.
GREAT NEWS A STAND IN FOR MALKY AND PLAYS HIS HEART OUT
