Default Oh no! Rennie returns

Unbelievably Uriah Rennie has been appointed as the referee for Saturday’s game with Manchester United.

Rennie’s offences against Newcastle are too numerous to bother going into and his dislike of Alan Shearer is well known, so for the authorities to appoint him for such an important match is a joke.

Referees have a difficult job to do and generally receive too much criticism, mostly from pundits who have the benefit of seeing controversial incidents from every conceivable angle before having to pass comment.

But when it comes to Rennie no criticism of his performances can ever be judged as being too strong - he is simply not good enough to be refereeing professional football matches, as numerous managers will testify.

Still it could have been worse Mike Riley, the man who awarded Manchester United seven penalties in five games last season, could have been in charge.

Totally agree. The toons biggest match of the season and they appoint the most incompetent ref in the premiership, without even mentioning his dislike for shearer. What are they thinking

they should all have been sent off net: no, but seriouslei: if he dislikes shearer so much, why didn't he give him a yellow card for the tackle on o'shea(i remember he should have gotten 2yellows last season on st jaims')

and ruud got a card when bowyer dived he fell before ruud got near him... ruud was a meater away from him when he started the dive.... rennie just wouldn't see it... fuck rennie... i hope he gets to ref the cnference for the rest of the season
