Yes, but it looks like Geremi will play most of his games as a holding midfielder.

Really? I'd say you'd be miles better off getting in a midfielder than a right back - for long term benefit. You have Butt, Barton and Emre in midfield, and with Geremi and Carr at RB, you're better off leaving that defence where it lands after you're done getting Drago, and instead getting an option in midfield that you don't have already.

Shouldn't Geremi play RB ?

Geremi - Rozenahl - Cacapa - Enrique ?

Enrique is the most exciting defender we have bought in so far then. Spanish media have wanted Barca, Madrid, Valencia and Sevilla in this transfer and I really hope he will adjust.

Rozehnal is also an exciting sign. He is a Czech international and he was very good in Paris SG. Caçapa is also skilled, but I don't think he'll be a giant defender in the PL.

Nevertheless, we have a better defence now than last season. We should perhaps go for Woodgate (£6 mill) when he was available...but it looks like we didn't try?

Geremi SHOULD play right back, but it seem like Allardyce fancies Carr unfortunatly, and Geremi has been terrific as a holding midfielder so far. The good thing is that Carr is injuryprone, so hopefully we won't see him much this season. But I also have to say that apparently he has been a completly different player in the pre-season, so maybe Big Sam can get the best out of him. Who knows?

I would be much more confident if Geremi was our RB, much more solid in my opinion.

RB: Geremi
CB: Rozenhal/Taylor
CB: Cacapa/Dragutinovic
LB: Enrique

if they were the options starting for next season then I would be more than happy. Finally something has been done.

Update on Dragutinovic
Quote:
Newcastle target Ivica Dragutinovic is set to decide where his future lies on Monday.

Magpies boss Sam Allardyce is understood to have offered the Sevilla defender a three-year deal.

Dragutinovic admitted earlier this week that he did not want to reject the 'financial opportunity of his life', with Newcastle ready to triple his salary.

However, reports in the Spanish press suggest Dragutinovic is still mulling over whether he wants to join a club that will not play European football this season.

Sevilla have qualified for the UEFA Champions League and coach Juande Ramos has spoken to Dragutinovic about staying.

The Serbian could be offered a new deal by Sevilla with a pay rise.
