Default Five players released

Oguchi Onyewu
Titus Bramble
Craig Moore
Pavel Srnicek
Olivier Bernard

This is great news - providing we can get replacements in by August, though releasing that many defenders they must be fairly confident.

Feels good to have things moving so early in the close season.

Making a difference already. Finally Bramble is told to fuck off.

An exciting time for the Toon Army. How much do you think you'll get to spend?

all there contracts ended this time of year,

Oguchi Onyewu - loan
Titus Bramble - end of contract
Craig Moore - supraise to me
Pavel Srnicek - retirment again
Olivier Bernard - end of contract.

I think we you can add Luque to this list, good signs they didn't renew Brambell, what unlucky fans will have to indore his "crapness?" is there a word that desribes Brambell?

We have already been linked with Anelka, Diouf, Hunt, Ben Haim and Nolan.

Nolan in, Emre out? Could be.

Can't see Anelka moving as Bolton are in Europe.

Ben Haim is out of contract in the summer, I think, so good signing.

I can actually see Diouf following Allardyce, seeing as he's the man that has got the best out of him.

I wouldn't be so sure. Supposedely him and Anelka for example mainly went to Bolton because of Sammy Lee who they knew when they were at Liverpool.

Sammy Lee could actually be a top manager, he seems to be a top coach just have to wait and see how good is managment skills are.

I don't want Diouf anyway. I don't want a **** that dives, is over-aggressive and that are spitting on people.

The only way I can see Anelka end up at Newcastle is if Owen or Martins leaves the club.

If we sell Parker to West Ham (if the rumours are true) then I think Allardyce will make a bid for Nolan.

We should go for Ben Haim. Would be a good signing on a free.

Big names on Big Sam's wishlist

Quote:
Mark Viduka, Sami Hyypia, Tal Ben Haim, Sol Campbell and Jlloyd Samuel are all thought to be on Sam Allardyce's Newcastle shopping list.

Allardyce has wasted little time since taking the manager's job at St James' Park earlier this week and on Wednesday announced five players - Titus Bramble, Craig Moore, Olivier Bernard, Pavel Srnicek and Oguchi Onyewu - would not have their contracts renewed.

But the former Bolton boss is thought to have drawn up a list of replacements, with Middlesbrough striker Viduka at the top of his hitlist.

The Australian forward is out of contract this summer and has stalled on signing a new two-year deal at the Riverside Stadium.

However, Allardyce will face stiff competition for Viduka's signature from Manchester United, while Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp is also thought to be keen on the 31-year-old.

Allardyce is also hoping to give his defensive options a complete makeover and is rumoured to be planning a shock move for Pompey defender Campbell.

The former Arsenal star resurrected his career at Fratton Park this season, but Allardyce hopes to persuade him to lend his experience to his Tyneside revolution.

The Toon boss is also considering raiding his former club Bolton for highly-rated defender Ben Haim, who is available on a free transfer after his contract expired at the Reebok Stadium.

Liverpool defender Hyypia is another option and the Finn could easily be persuaded to move on after losing his first-team place at Anfield to Daniel Agger.

Allardyce is also in the hunt for a full-back and has been strongly linked with a move for Villa's Samuel, who is eager to leave Villa Park after seeing his first-team opportunities limited under Martin O'Neill.

Swiss midfielder Gelson Fernandes is also a target, but Allardyce will face competition from his former Bolton assistant Sammy Lee in the race to sign the FC Sion player.

And while Allardyce is preparing to bring a number of players in, yet more Toon stars could be set for the chop with Celestine Babayaro, Antoine Sibierski, Stephen Carr and Charles N'Zogbia set to make way for the new arrivals.

I am not Viduka's biggest fan but he had a good season at Boro and Allardyce is great at getting the best out of players.

I'd take Hyppia. I think he can do a good job alongside Taylor. But I can't see him coming though.

Sol Campbell would be a great signing. But fuck off Roeder for not signing him last summer when he was free.

J'lloyd Samuel is not a improvement. Better look elsewhere.

If Rafa signs a new centre half in the summer, I can guarantee Hyypia will leave.Milito is once again linked for a move to Anfield.

All i can say is that Big Sam better have something amazing in store. Those players may have been shit but they added depth to the squad and seeing as they're all defenders im guessing hes got 1 or 2 negotiations wrapped up.
