Default Dyer Feels Guilty At Stupid Past

Kieron Dyer has revealed he still feels guilty for the way he behaved earlier on in his Newcastle career under former manager Sir Bobby Robson.

The veteran manager was sacked after a poor start to the 2004-2005 season and it followed a falling out with Dyer over his public refusal to play on the right-hand side of midfield.

Dyer has recently declared that he does not enjoy playing in this position, but confesses his behaviour was 'naive' and 'stupid'.

"I still feel incredibly guilty about that," Dyer told the Daily Mirror.

"The players at Newcastle used to call me 'Bobby's son' because he would give me special treatment and the odd day off to go back home to Ipswich and I let him down massively.

"He was sacked soon after which made it all a hundred times worse. I should never have done that. I was just young and naive and stupid.

"It's something I will have to live with for the rest of my life and I'm thankful that when I rang him after he was fired he accepted my apology."

For so long he was scum of the club and 90% of the NUFC fans wanted him out. He was written off by most fans, but has now worked damn hard and been through a hell of a time and is starting to prove his worth.
I think its great he is being open about what went on and takes the blame for the part he played.
I thought he was done at the club but hard and decent performances have earned him some respect again.

Because he is more injuryprone than any other players out there and because he has had to many problems off the field.

Dyer - one of the biggest talents I've ever seen when he signed with Toon. He is still a great footballer, but he had been so big if he had avoided injures and personal problems.

However, he had not played for N'castle United today then. I'm 100 % sure about that.

Dyer's life story is the perfect exmple of everything that's gone wrong with this club since Keegan.
