A bit over-optimistic maybe. First we have to see what happens throughout the summer.

I fully expect next year (providing we sign at least 1 world class centre forward) to challenge in the top 6. This second half of the season has been the settling down period of stability this club has been looking for for years.

Your a better side than Tottenham at your best. I expect top 6 easy, top 5 possible, top 4 at a push if Utd don't improve.

Roeder appointed Magpies boss
Quote:
Glenn Roeder has been confirmed as full-time manager of Newcastle on a two-year contract.
The club decided to appoint Roeder after a successful spell in charge as caretaker boss following the departure of Graeme Souness. Roeder does not have the required UEFA Pro Licence but a vote of Premier League chairmen cleared the way for his appointment.
Roeder told the club's official website, www.nufc.co.uk: "It's hard to describe how I feel at the moment. I know all about this club, having played here for almost six years and having captained the club."
He added: "I'm an extremely lucky person to have been given this opportunity, and it is an opportunity I want to take."
Chairman Freddy Shepherd also confirmed on Tuesday that striker Alan Shearer, who retired at the end of the season, will act as sporting ambassador for the club.

Good luck indeed....perhaps a man lacking any personality is exactly what the club needs atm.

I'm reasonable content....now. That may change one way or another.
What he's done has been nothing short of an amazing turnaround. There's not really anybody who could have faired better than he dd, so on that basis he deserves it.I think he's a sensible man, who is easy to work with. He seems to respect the players and they seem to respect him. As an ex NUFC player, he knows what the club is about.
I'll back him. If things start going badly wrong then that will change, but the bloke has earned the right to be given a chance and backing by fans. I'll back him and I think most NUFC fans will.
