Default Magpies eye Ruud swoop!!

Quote:
Newcastle are reportedly interested in signing Reds striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.

The Dutch striker, the joint top scorer in the Premiership this season with 19, has been dropped by Sir Alex Ferguson for the last three games in favour of Louis Saha.

That has led to speculation over Van Nisterlooy's future, and the Daily Telegraph report that the Magpies are "monitoring" the situation.

Newcastle are searching for a successor to Alan Shearer, who plans to retire at the end of the season, and rumours persist that his fellow Newcastle striker Michael Owen could still be tempted by a move back to Liverpool.

IMO Owen - Nistelrooy could been a good combination.

First of all, I think he will stay at Old Trafford.

If he leaves Manchester, I think there is a possibility that he can join Newcastle United. I don't think Chelsea, Madrid or Barca will have him. He will be expensive, and Arsenal and Liverpool...I don't think so.

Bayern Munchen, Newcastle, Valencia or back to Netherland is likely..but we know that N'castle and Shep always have some money on account. So if it is a question of money...I think N'castle have a fair chance.

But again..I think he will stay in Manchester.

Thought this would happen sooner or later, most predictable transfer rumour of the year. Assuming he is less than £10m he will be a good signing.

Just speculation though.

Nah...can't see him being any good for Newcastle and I can't see him forming a partnership with Owen.

I can't see Owen and RVN working as a partnership at all. Can't see him signing for you lot either.

If Ferguson were to sell Nistelrooy, I doubt he will sell him to a EPL club.

I don't think Fergie would care, because he would only be selling him if he was naff.

Its Ruud that would be the one who wouldn't go to a Premiership club out of choice imo.
