Default Newcastle vs Charlton

Newcastle will make a late check on the fitness of captain Alan Shearer and Kieron Dyer ahead of their rearranged Premiership clash.

Celestine Babayaro completes a two-match ban while Stephen Carr (hernia), Michael Owen (foot) and Steven Taylor (shoulder) are out.

Marcus Bent is available for Charlton after sitting out the 3-1 FA Cup win over Brentford as he was cup-tied.

Dennis Rommedahl is doubtful with a rib complaint as is Jonathan Fortune.

Newcastle (from): Given, Harper, Ramage, Elliott, Boumsong, Bramble, Parker, N'Zogbia, Solano, Emre, Bowyer, Faye, Clark, Shearer, Dyer, Luque, Ameobi, Chopra.

Charlton (from): Myhre, Young, Hreidarsson, Powell, Ambrose, Holland, Kishishev, Smertin, Hughes, M Bent, D Bent, Andersen, Perry, Spector, Thomas, Bothroyd, El Karkouri, Bartlett, Euell, Fortune.

0-0

Newcastle won the statistic but did not score against the London club. Charlton ain't that bad and we played without Shearer-Owen on the top. 0-0 is of course poorly but at least - we didn't lose.

It was a pretty poor performance. I believe this was an oportunity we had to take Charlton and put ourselves in the frame for a top 10 finish, and possibly even an outside shout of a uefa cup place.

There is still time, but It will be extreamly difficult to finish top 10.

So many invectives in the club. Dyer is now out for three more weeks after a injured who have set him out for a half year.

Hardly surprising, a bit too soon coming out with all this. Hope he get's back quick, or it's the same type of performances against better opposition. Feel pretty gutted for him, to be honest.
