£7m plus bowyer, and not a penny more.. im sure he would come, with Shearer being his idol.. he wouldnt need much persuading.

Yeah, use Bowyer as joker, and maximum £7 millions.
He is not worth more than that IMO.
Ashton is a great and talented striker which is perfect for N'castle United.
Michael Owen - Dean Ashton - Eidur Gudjohnson - Shola Ameobi - Albert Luque as strikers for next season.
Not so damn much money to spend either. Better to use most of the money in the defence and midfield.

GLENN ROEDER is keen to be reunited with Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe at Newcastle.
The new Toon boss must fill the huge gap left by retired skipper Alan Shearer.
And Defoe’s future at White Hart Lane is again in doubt after the £10.9million arrival of Bulgarian Dimitar Berbatov.
Roeder is a big admirer of Defoe, 23, having worked with him for two years at West Ham.
Chairman Freddy Shepherd has assured the manager there is money to spend, providing some squad members at St James’ Park are sold.
And Roeder believes a combination of Michael Owen and Defoe would be a potent force in the Premiership next term.
Owen - Gudjohnson - Defoe - Luque ....great mix?

Defoe is too hit and miss for me, he drifts in and out of the game, and whilst his goals are generally spectacular, he brings nothing else to the table, which is why he is not a regular in the Spurs first team and is also why he is not an automatic choice for the England squad.
Defoe is the sort of striker who bangs in goals for fun at home, but if he has to play as a lone striker away from home, he does not usually deliver. That is not the sort of striker we need or want.

hey guys!
hi guys, im a huge newcastle fan! i'm living in USA! moved here 2 years ago from Singapore! just wanted to say i'm glad to be joining u guys here. personally i think we should look at buying either gudjonsen, defoe or cisse. they are all proven goalscorers, just that they haven't got a regular starting spot to prove it.
Howay the Lads!!

Good to have you on board Tim.
Cisse is a poor player, you don't want him.
Defoe is a poor mans Owen, you don't want him.
Gudjohnsen would be a great partner for Owen, you should be bidding for him. But I doubt he will leave.

thanks guys! i definitely will be sticking around. i'm sure gudjonsen will leave since he doesnt get much chances to play and plus mourinho is ready to listen to offers for him plus 3 other chelsea players. so hopefully he'll leave and come to St. James Park where he'll definitely start up front with one of the best strikers in the world! OWEN!

Not shearers replacement but would be good to be the link up man from midfield or cover up front.

well yeah, no one could replace Shearer. He's the one and only. But he'll be a good support for owen. i absolutely hate manchester united and nistelrooy but i think if we have a chance we should sign him. but not more than 10million tho cause of his age.

I don't want Nistelrooy. Too much money for a player who would'nt give a damn.

haha! yeah i will hate them till the day i die! they think they are the biggest and best team in the world. i think sir alex ferguson is the dumbest manager ever. he lets go a lot of good players. not that i care but i just think its dumb. and also he signs almost every big name player from the noses of other clubs at the last second every time. its annoying.
