We can forget Bridge if Chelsea doesn't sign Cole.
Huth- Nein danke. He is average at his best.

Wtf is going on with Graver? He is forced about in Madrid and many clubs want him...but why is he still in the spanish capital? The price is low and his wage isn't that huge.

True be interesting to know, but our midfield is the last part of the team we need to be reinforcing at the minute, i wanna know if roeder is looking for a replacement for boumsong.

We have significantly boosted our squad with the signings of Damien Duff and Obefami Martins. We have now spent 15 million pounds and probably only have another 10 million pounds or so left. Who can we buy now to boost the squad even further and challenge for european places.

- one more striker ( a striker from Championship?)
- midfielder ( Gravesen)
- central defender (Woodgate or Huth)
- a left back ( Bridge)

Striker - A good one from the coca cola championship. Its also good strikers in Germany, France and Spain that are available too.

Midfielder - need him or not, if we can get him (Graver) for £2m its not even a question. The season is long with injures and many matches and we need quality players on the bench too.

Central defender - not Huth. Rumours says that Woody is available for loan this season and we can give him a 'pay as you play' contract.

- If Cole joins The Blues, we'll probably get Bridge. He'd been a good signing.

The Newcastle squad is too small and they need two or three quality players. Again I recommend the market in Germany and Spain. Look at the big guns over there...they have a lot of good players on the bench that had reinforced N'castle United.

I think we should take a look at Nugent. I guess we can get him for around £3.5mill.

Jonathan Woodgate has confirmed that he is on his way back to England.

The Real Madrid ace has been told by the Spanish giants that they want him to get regular first team football and he is ready to seal a switch back to The Premiership in the coming days.

Real have accepted at least one loan offer, as skysports.com can confirm that Middlesbrough have indeed made a move for the Teesside-born player.

Former club Newcastle also appear to be keen, while Arsenal are also being strongly linked to make a move - but Liverpool ruled themselves out of the running on Friday.

Woodgate himself has accepted the fact he will be spending next season in The Premiership.

"I am going away to play on loan for a year, in the next few hours I will know which team I will be playing for," he said.

"All the English that want me I like, and it will be a positive thing for me to return to England.

"I need to play games in order to prove I am strong and that I am totally recovered from injury, but here [Spain] it is hard to get continuity.

"It is better that I have one season playing in England and in one year I will return to Madrid and demonstrate that I am good football player."

>> Okay. Its official. Woody will be ready for a PL club the coming days and Newcastle is one of them.

He will play one season in PL and then go back to Madrid to prove that he is good enough.

Woodgate is now also free for injures. I can't understand why Madrid let him go, but that's another debate.

So, will he end up in his former club, Newcastle United? Had been awesome IMO.

Yes it would be nice to see him in Black and White again, some how I don't think it will happen though. Boro I think will get him.

Well if we offered he surely would join us, he had a good run, excellent player and it would be better for woodgate to play in the higher half of the league if he wants real madrid to notice him again

Woodgate said when he left Newcastle that they should reserve the number 6 shirt for him.

This late in the transfer window, what are the chances are finding another Central Defender?

I would have no hesitations in taking Woodgate on loan.

But then again, Shepherd is Shepherd, and Roeder is Roeder.

I agree, but there isnt enough time for roeder to take time and analyse players now that windows are shutting soon, and anyhow woodgate has proven to be a really good centeral defender. i really hope we do beat middlesbrough to signing him on loan

If Newcastle want to be top six this season, they need four new quality players this week.
