Default Owen- broken metatarsal

Quote:
Newcastle and England striker Michael Owen has broken a bone in his foot and will be sidelined for several months.
The 26-year-old fractured his fifth metatarsal during the Magpies' 2-0 defeat at Tottenham on New Year's Eve.

He is not expected to be a doubt for the World Cup finals in Germany this summer but his absence from Premiership action is a major blow to Newcastle.

In a further piece of bad news for the club, keeper Shay Given has suffered a suspected broken thumb.

Republic of Ireland international Given has been one of Newcastle's most consistent performers this season.

It is unclear at this stage what injury the keeper has suffered.

Worst possible ****ing news.****ING SICK OF THIS CLUB CURRENTLY.
HAPPY ****ING NEW YEAR!

I think given the squad he inherited and the relative size of the club when he was appointed, Souness is by far and away the worst manager I've seen in my time.
With the talent at our disposal its criminal whats happening.

Default Ameobi in new injury blow

Quote:
Shola Ameobi is the latest player to give Graeme Souness cause for concern, with the Newcastle United striker fearing he has suffered a recurrence of a hip problem.
Ameobi – who had his hip operated on last year – was replaced on the left wing for the second half against Middlesbrough yesterday by Charles N'Zogbia.

"We'll have to see what is around the corner for Shola because he is complaining about his hip. It was an injury which he had last year, and required an operation.

He joins Michael Owen, Emre, Kieron Dyer, Stephen Carr, Steven Taylor and Craig Moore in the treatment room.

Let there be lots and lots of setbacks!!!!

Im ashamed that i feel like this when one of our players is injured, but we are better team without him!

According to the Norwegian paper Adressa, Scott Parker is out for one month?

This is just tragic and ridiculous. Injures, injures and injures. Something is very wrong with Newcastle United and their facilities.

Default Yet another key injury for Newcastle United

Quote:
Newcastle United Football Club manager Graeme Souness must wonder why he bothers…

The Magpies have suffered incredible rotten luck with injuries this season, with a number of key players being forced out for weeks’ at a time during a turbulent campaign.

And just as big a blow as that of Owen, it has now been revealed that Scott Parker faces around four weeks out of action after a knee injury picked up last month flared up again.

The former Charlton Athletic and Chelsea midfielder has been in superb form for the St James’ Park outfit this season, and his absence will be a huge blow for Souness.

Has there ever happened something in Newcastle earlier in the history that God is punishing everyone related to the city and footballclub?

THIS IS UNREAL

There has to be something in training that causes all these injuries. It cannot just be bad luck. Is souness doing world war two training methodes or what the f**k is going on?

Souness is cursed.

OUT!!!

I can't get it. Year after year after year. Newcastle have a great and exciting squad, but before every single match, 4-5 key players are out.

Against Boro, only three-four regular players in the starting lineup.

I hope they will take a good time so they not are ready too early. The season is already over, so build them up 100 % before they enter the pitch.

Default Roeder won't rush Dyer back

Quote:
Glenn Roeder has vowed not to rush Kieron Dyer back to action following the midfielder's return to fitness.

The 27-year-old England international has missed Newcastle's last three games courtesy of familiar hamstring troubles, having only just returned to action after five months left kicking his heels on the sidelines.

However, while Dyer is back in training, Roeder is reticent to push the player before he is ready and with this in mind Dyer is highly unlikely to play any part at the weekend against Manchester United.

"Kieron came out and did some ball work with us on Monday and it was great to see him back on the training ground,'' Roeder told the Newcastle Evening Chronicle.

"But it is still early days for him yet and the only thing we can say is that there is no way we are going to rush him back.

''Old Trafford is not in our thinking for him or Titus Bramble.

"Titus is back running again and he is happy at the stage his recovery is at following his hamstring injury."

Im glad Dyer and Bramble arent being rushed..the same with Owen.. we need as many of them back for the Chelsea game as possible.

Default Dyer boost for Magpies

Quote:
Newcastle caretaker manager Glenn Roeder was pleased to see Kieron Dyer return to action in the 2-0 defeat at Manchester United.

Roeder reported that the midfielder had emerged unscathed from his 30-minute appearance off the substitutes bench, only his sixth appearance for the Magpies all season.

"It was encouraging to see Kieron come back," said Roeder.

"We have increased the intensity of his training and after speaking to him on Saturday, we decided it would make sense to put him on the bench with a view to getting him on for 25 to 30 minutes.

"We've done that and Kieron has said afterwards he was fine."

I wonder how many days he will stay fit this time.

Default Taylor can't wait

Steven Taylor is closing in on his long-awaited return to the Newcastle United first-team as manager Glenn Roeder admitted his biggest problem was holding the youngster back.

The England Under-21 international dislocated his shoulder for the second time this season at Anfield on Boxing Day, barely a quarter of the way through his comeback game. Since then Taylor's rehabilitation has been uncertain. At one point he looked on schedule to squeeze in some matches before June, only for him to later reveal he feared he would not play again this season.

But Roeder has revealed the Greenwich-born player is back to full fitness and waiting for his shoulder to heal properly - which should be in time for the visit of West Bromwich Albion a week on Saturday.

"I've been very impressed with Steven Taylor," said Roeder. "Some days he works on his own but he's back to a level of physical fitness. If he had full movement in the shoulder he'd be fit enough to play."

Taylor's problems started early in the season when on England Under-21 duty. The Magpies ignored medical advice to have the problem operated on immediately but the problem resurfaced in the November 5 clash with Birmingham City.

The youngster has made good progress in terms of his general fitness but it is his shoulder which is preventing him making an immediate return to first-team football.

"Physically he'd have been okay to send out to play on Sunday but we have to get the full range of movement in his shoulder," Roeder explained.

"He's been doing lots of swimming and working in the gym. In between times he's out working with us."

Taylor's problems re-emerged when he returned to first-team action ahead of schedule and caretaker boss Roeder says holding back his competitive young defender is the biggest problem facing him at the moment.

"It's not a problem of us saying, `Be careful, no crashing into Steven.' The problem is to get Steven to stop crashing into players," he said.

"It's a long time since I've seen a player who I get the feeling would kick his granny to win and that's lovely - although not for granny."
