Luque will sign tomorrow?
Albert Luque will arrive at Newcastle United on Friday for a medical, after a fee in the region of £10 million was agreed with Deportivo La Coruna.
Agent Francis Martin exclusively told skysports.com that an accord had been reached over the player and that he would seal a move to The Premiership this week.
"Tomorrow [Friday] morning, Newcastle will send a plane for Luque and his father," said Martin.
"We are confident that the player will pass the medical and sign a contract."
Luque himself expressed his delight at the chance of playing in England, saying: "I am happy that a deal has been done.
"The Premiership is an excellent league.
"It is up to the coach but I am prepared to play on Sunday against Manchester United.
"To be in the team next to [Alan] Shearer would be a huge personal satisfaction to me."
Luque is believed to have secured a five-year deal with The Magpies and looks in line to make his debut in the live Super Sunday clash with The Red Devils.
The move had seemed deadlocked but Newcastle have been busy trying to reinforce their squad before next Wednesday's deadline as they remain goalless in this season's Premiership after three games.
>> Finally. But N'castle must not stop there. They need another striker in the club.

Good good, thats one out of the way, and he could turn out to be a very good player for the club. Just need that goalscorer now.

Bugger, beat me to it, gonna say exactly the say post. Just whether or not souness can restore morale in the team, and make them play with spirit so he doesn't have to use tactics very often, as we all know he is useless.

They haven't been in the last two matches thats all, which is the root of my worry, especially after the heartless performances by the team last season. They will realy need to shape up or expect a tough time, as souness can't be trusted to do anything good on match day.

well parker needs to grow into the role and shearer cant be a leader from the front unless he has people up there with him....

Wonderful photo! I think this will be a huge signing for us. We have the makings of a pretty damn good team everywhere else, but Shearer needs some help up front. Luque will provide a lot of that. Still could really use another though. I agree that Kuyt would be perfect. ::nw::

kuyt>>>>>>>>>>>>>owen any day imo.
anelka is still available if you give them 13 mill + and he is a far superior striker to owen.

I'd take owen, i just think for the price we've offered, i'd offer the same for kuyt, or as you say, anelka for about the original 10 million. Owen doesnt want to join us, whereas at least anlka does, and kuyt hasn't exactly said we are a last choice alternative.

even someone like venegoor of hesselink could do a job...see if benitez is willing to sell cisse.
perhaps try buying in chevanthon or adebayor at monaco...

I'd even go for someone like huntelaar who is a good player, just isn't proven and until last season never showed his potential.
