Bow offered in Boa deal
Graeme Souness is reported to have offered Lee Bowyer to Fulham as a makeweight in a bid to bring Luis Boa Morte to Newcastle.
The 27-year-old Portugal international is back in the Cottagers team after an injury lay-off and starred in their 3-1 win over Crystal Palace on New Year's Day.
And even though Bowyer has been one of the Magpies' better players in their recent poor run, Souness is prepared to part with him as he has a surfeit of midfielders.
The Toon boss is also said to be closing on the services of Boa Morte's international team-mate Jorge Andrade.
The Deportivo La Coruna defender has been offered a new four-year deal at The Riazor but the allure of the Premiership may convince him to move to Tyneside.
Other reports suggest Souness has earmarked Portsmouth striker Yakubu as his number one transfer target, but Pompey value the 10-goal hot-shot at £12m and Newcastle are prepared to pay only half that amount.

If i was Coleman i'd snap it up!!
I've heard you may add Bernard to the deal. Bowyer and Bernard for Boa Morte would be a terrible deal for Newcastle IMO.

Souness can't be that stupid that he will give away two players plus pay a fee for Boa.

No fee involved, just 2 players for one. And given that both Bowyer and Bernard have only 18 months left on their contracts, their values are not what they should be.

Feeling puzzled now, on one hand I wish Bernard to stay to compete with Babayaro for the LB position, and on another hand I also wish to get a new left winger (to replace the inconsistent Robert). Maybe use Robert as the bait to get Boa instead ! : :

Good thinking, other clubs still rate him for some reason. He says he wants to stay at the club tho, so its confusin the situation with him.

Hasn't had one decent performance this season and has been given a lot more of a chance this season. I dont rate boa morte as a winger or striker, but we do need someone to replave robert, and with charlie and jimmy starting to show some good form, we dont need to be held ransom over some players.

I think it’s inevitable that Boa Morte will sign for us now, if we make a new bid.
