Robert hit in the pocket
Newcastle winger Laurent Robert will find himself £40,000 out of pocket after his latest indiscretion.
The 28-year-old Frenchman incurred the wrath of his club last week by appearing to question manager Sir Bobby Robson's selection policy, and was then needlessly sent off for two bookings during a 2-2 draw at Everton.
Referee Rob Style's performance in a match which saw him issue two red cards and 10 yellows has been criticised but Robert, having already been cautioned for a foul on Steve Watson, put his neck on the block with a senseless leap at Tobias Linderoth.
The former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder will be fined the maximum two weeks' wages.

It's not so good for a player to talk bad things of manager in front of media. Hope he'll learn a lesson !

Yeah, good idea. But need a replacement for that position as Viana like to play in central.

Dyer plays like craps on the left, you can see it during his game with England. Viana still can play on the left side, but his prefered position is in central, I haven't seen him play in central role before with Newcastle.

gud point thatslife, i think robert has got to be sold, hes never lived up to his first season and all he does now is cause trouble, as for dyer he shud be dropped cos hes living on his reputation and needs a kick up the arse, but if bobbys gonna play him he shud play on the left, giving either viana or bowyer to play in their correct position in the centre of midfield

Why would we sell robert we dont get any service witout him unless nobby is playing. Roberts a great player and sets up most our goals. Its people like Alan Oliver(eviening chroicle) who slate him n all the people who read it belive it n say we shud sell him but really he plays alrite.
