Default Shearer is gonna to be replaced !

Sir Bobby Robson has told worried Newcastle supporters: "We can replace Alan Shearer."

The United boss has confirmed that the search for a new goal predator has begun in earnest on Tyneside, after his skipper's declaration last week that he will retire in 2005.

And while Robson admits he faces a hugely difficult task to find another striker of the same calibre, he refuses to accept it is a mission impossible.

"We're already looking for someone capable of doing his job when the time comes for him to stand down," said Robson. "There are always players around, pebbles on the beach. But he will be a hard act to follow - no doubt about that.

"He is an icon, a terrific player and a legend who will always be remembered here. So yes, he will be hard to replace. But not impossible."

:danc:

It's great to hear this news as we worried that Bobby Robson won't spend to buy a new striker to replace Shearer. Hopefully it will be someone who can match Shearer's capability.

Absolutely true...Shearer is the best !

Now Kluivert is again linked to Newcastle following Shearer's decision to retire. He will be allowed to leave for just £1.6m next summer. Is he the best replacement to fill up Shearer's boots ?

i dont no, i no there are alot of kluivert fans, but im not one of them. I think theres better strikers than kluivert, however if we can get him for as cheap as 1.6m weve gotta take it
