Newcastle United hope to establish that Charles N'Zogbia is their player this week.
N'Zogbia's former club, Le Havre, have revealed they're now in talks over a compensation fee for the teenager.
Le Havre won a case on appeal the to Court for Arbitration in Sport that Newcastle must pay a fee for the youngster after signing him in the summer.
"The two clubs are in contact to talk about a compensation package and we hope to have an agreement soon," a Le Havre spokesperson told the Sunday Sun.
