Preview: Everton VS Newcastle
Bellamy and Given should be fit to play Everton this Saturday.
After suffering neck and knee injuries, goalkeeper Shay Given has also been given the all-clear to play. We're glad that Given recovered on time as second choice keeper Harper, is out injured with hamstring. Third choice keeper Tony Caig will be recalled to sit on the bench.
After missing 3 matches, Bellamy finally back with Newcastle. Newcastle expect Craig Bellamy to play at Everton on Saturday after he reported back from international duty fit and well. Bellamy will be lightly trained between now and Saturday and will start at Goodison Park if he continues to suffer no adverse affects.
Jonathan Woodgate is set to miss Newcastle's clash with Everton on Saturday as he continues to struggle to shrug off a stomach strain. United boss Sir Bobby Robson denies surgery is needed - but admits he is not counting on Woodgate to make the game at Goodison Park.
But midfielder Jermaine Jenas, like Woodgate, is a doubt after having surgery to remove four wisdom teeth. "His face is a mess and we're not sure about him yet," confirmed Robson.
If Jenas does not make it, Gary Speed will almost certainly be restored to his central midfield role after playing at left-back in Newcastle's last Premiership outing - a disastrous 1-0 home defeat by Birmingham.
With winger Nolberto Solano only returning from international duty with Peru on Friday, Robson is likely to restore Lee Bowyer to his starting line-up. Hugo Viana is likely to also make way on the left wing for Laurent Robert.
Newcastle (probable): Given, Hughes, Bramble, O'Brien, Bernard, Bowyer, Dyer, Speed, Robert, Shearer, Bellamy.
