Uefa Cup Seedings
British duo Rangers and Newcastle United have been named among the top seeds for the inaugural group stage of the Uefa Cup.
The pair progressed to the next stage on Thursday with The Magpies easing past Bnei Sachnin while Rangers needed penalties to see off Maritimo.
Being placed in the top group is good news for the duo as it means they will avoid the bigger names in the competition such as Lazio, Parma, Feyenoord and Stuttgart.
Middlesbrough, however, have been placed in the third group of seeds while Hearts, who overcame Braga, are in the fourth group.
The draw will be made on Tuesday at 11:00 BST in Nyon, Switzerland.
