Default Souness and Savage in tunnel bust-up

The ever-popular Robbie Savage sparked a tunnel bust-up with Graeme Souness on Sunday after telling the Toon boss: "I'm a better player than you ever were."

According to The Sun, Savage and Souness rowed after Newcastle's draw with Birmingham. Supporting the contention of one of Savage's former Leicester team-mates that, "If brains were chocolate he wouldn't have enough to fill a Smartie," the newspaper claims that not only did Savage spark the clash with the Premiership’s toughest manager but also claimed that he was a better player than Souness ever was.

Yes, because Souness never won anything as a player, whereas the honours-laden Savage has won, erm,…

Savage apparently turned on Souness as he marched past the Newcastle bench at St Andrew’s, shouting that Newcastle were "s**t" and that the Scot was "only fifth-choice for the Newcastle job."

"Yeah, and you’re a really great player, aren't you?" responded the irate Souness.

"I'm a better player than you were," Savage then claimed.

Souness then followed Savage into the Brum dressing room to politely enquire: "Which clubs have you played for?"

Following Savage’s failure to answer, Souness continued: "Remind me what you’ve won - because I can't remember anything."

Funny little story.

What a joke this Savage fellow is. He is not fit to lace Souness's boots let alone to claim that he was a better player.

Savage lives on another planet with these borish antics. Is this guy for real?

This whole story is laughable. Get a life Savage::confused

Graeme Souness is IMO the greatest british midfielder of alltime! He was a brilliant player. He was better than anyone playing in England(and the rest of Europe) today, Gerrard, Vieira, Xabi, Lamps, Keano, none of them at their best is as good as Souness was. Gerrard could become as good as him, he's very similar in style. Xabi could as well.

Savage is shit in comparison.

Savage will be a legend at every club he has played at.

He's loved and respected in leicester just like souess is in Liverpool.

I'm not saying the savage is better than he was. but 2 men arguingi hardly important. 2 players 2 diferent stories.

Savage a legend are you off your head::talksocc ::talksocc ::talksocc . He is total tosh. I can't believe that anyone could get behind him. He has nothing to offer the game in terms of skill and ability. There a thousand Robbie Savage's playing non-league football.

I am not a fan of Graeme Souness but I respect what he has done in the game both as a player and manager and his record speaks for itself and like my old rival RULEY I agree that Souness is up there amongst the best. Savage is 29 and he has only ever won a League Cup throughout his career. He needs a reality check.

Id agree with that, he has a good work rate, but nowt else, murphys a better passer and has more skill. Savage runs around like a deranged donkey and hacks at anyone with the ball.

I know I'm Welsh and so is Savage and we do need him for Wales but to say he was better than Souness! What a fucking joke, He called the Newcastle team shit of which he would get no chance of playing in at all as all our midfielders are better than him.

Come on Butt, break his legs Saturday! Obviously I still want Wales to win, Speed hatrick on the cards u reckon?
