January Transfers
Souness is supposedly to be given 20 million squid to spend in january and rui costa is meant to be on his list. Although obviously a centre back is more important and a more specialised right winger, i think rui costa's all round creativity would be good for the strikers, but will just make it harder for the other midfielders to establish a first team place.

Rui Costa would be good but how much would we have to pay for him? You are right the other midfielders won't be able to establish a regular starting place and I think Jenas and Bowyer are doing great at the moment, surprised Bowyer hasn't been called up tbh. Rui Costa's name could attract more big names to the club. A Defender(s) is more important and possibly a right winger as you say, Solano rumoured to be possibly coming back or something. We certainly do need a right winger though and 2 Defenders.....Luis Figo looks on his way out of Madrid so :wow:
Did you read this on teletext mat? Cos I did.

We need at least one worldclass centreback & right winger. that should make the team real tight.

you need two centrebacks, and a left back. And if Souness is going to pay £7mil for Rui Costa then he needs his head examined.

Wes Brown would be the perfect defender for you. His contract with Man Utd expires in January, so I reckon Souness will have no problem getting him, (if he ever has an interest in him that is).

Browns deal doesn't expire until summer but SAF will most likely sell him in January, if he doesn't sign the deal United offered him.

His contract expires in January in the sense that he can agree a free transfer from January on, and then make the move in June.

I think its almost certain we will get him if he doesn't sign the deal but I think we are more likely to give Man Utd a Mill or 2 in January rather than wait till the summer.

He is talented and for £2 million would be a good buy.

Yea he would be a good buy, I also think he would join because he knows he is guaranteed a first team spot. But we will need more than Wes Brown in January.

We have to use thoose £20 million wisely and also buy Boumsong for £6 million as Rangers are in trouble.

Brown and Boumsong are potentially a good partnership, but both have awful habits of making big time mistakes. Not as bad as Bramble. but still. You need a left back as well. Maybe JLloyd Samuel?? you know Doug Ellis will accept a decent bid cos all he cares about is money.
