Default Johnsen trained with Toon

Johnsen trained with Newcastle earlier today. What does everyone think of this likely signing?

Also, strong rumours suggest Desailly is to be unveiled as well.

Seems like both of them are just a short term replacement for Woody. However, they are aging already but i wouldn't mind they coming to Newcastle.

Being a Norwegian, I know everything there is to know about Johnsen's abilities. Aged 35 he is in fact surprisingly pacey. That combined with over 15 years worth of routine at the highest level, makes him an ideal signing in the short run..

I still think johnsen can ct it in the prem where as i think desailly is way past it and will be a liability.

Johnsen is apparantly well overweight.

johnsen used to be pacy.. hes lost most of it recently..... if he was fully up to the job, then villa would have kept him but he might do a job for you like calderwood did for us a few years back....

Hope so, neither him or desailly are in anyway good enough to fill the long term void left by woodys departure

we got like £30M 2 spend in Jan, 2 Defenders and a Right-winger maybe? Maybe another striker at end of season to replace Shearer.

id agree with that, we definately need a specialist right winger as well as ambrose who hasnt really showed his potential yet, as well as the obvios defensive frailties, a new centre back, and someone like trabelsi who can play full back and centre back

Miguel would have been great and Trabelsi, should get both for like £18M max, Wright-Phillips would be ideal for right wing, Malbranque even!
