Default Dawson Link Denied

Nottingham Forest boss Joe Kinnear has dismissed speculation central defender Michael Dawson will join Newcastle.
Newcastle want a replacement for Jonathan Woodgate, but Kinnear has refuted reports suggesting 23-year-old Dawson will be moving north.

"As far as I'm concerned this speculation is a load of utter garbage," said Kinnear. "

"The press boys and agents can talk to who they want and they can say what they want because it's all immaterial."

The Forest boss continued: "Daws has got two more years left on his contract and that means we will decide what's happening.

"He's contracted to Nottingham Forest Football Club, end of story."

Dawson would be unlikely to pass a medical having undergone surgery earlier this month to rectify problems on both sides of his groin.

Woodgate was recently sold to Real Madrid for £13.4m - but any replacement would have to be signed by the time the transfer window closes on 31 August.

Dawson's never 23.

Anyway Steve Taylor's better than him.

We don't need another young "talented" defender.

Ramage is another very promising young centre back who has a good chance of breakin into the first team in the next few seasons. Also o'brien and Bramble are still young and just need a more experienced centre back to help them improve.
