its good business in my eyes, ur making money on a player who has played less than 50% of the premier games he could have played for newcastle, use the money wisely and you'll look back at this and say it was a good thing. ive heard huth is going but he to me looks prone to mistakes, little bit like bramble.

dawson would be a good signing. and gallas would be but i cant see chelsea selling

English teenagers have more disposable income
than any of their european peers
and spend a higher percentage of it on football marketing than any other european country too

when euro clubs buy Japanese players
people say its just4 their marketing potential

is it over harsh on Bex, Owen and Woody
2repeat such an accusation here...?

in the case of beckham and owen, a large reason for them going is for marketing along with ability, however woodgate, i think is being bought simply for football reasons, im just suprised they are moving for an injury prone player

Even if he is injury prone he is a class player which is simply the reason im dissapointed. He will be good for real providing he stays fit, but otherwise they have adequate replacement

Michael Owen scores about 15-20 goals every season for The Reds + for Three Lions.

He only cost 10 million £ and he'll be a good backup for Ronaldo, Raul and Morientes. Last season, Madrid only had Ronaldo and Raul. Today clubs like ManUtd, Newcastle, Chelsea, Milan, Arsenal etc.. have 4 good attackers.

Woody is king, its sad that he leave only one year after the transfer from Leeds. But, I hope The Magpies find a good replacer.

Real Madrid will also thank Newcastle United for the excellent and professional way the tyneside club did. This will not be forget in Madrid, a spokeman for the club report.

I think bobby was right to give him the opportunity to play for the best club in the world and i think he deserves a decent wage as he will be starting defender when fit. As for his replacement, Chelsea have said they have recieved no enquiries for gallas or Huth, and although Dawson and davenport are both good players, so was titus bramble when we bought him as a youngster and he has been poor even with premiership experience at ipswich. I also heard we are interested in coloccini and fabio cannavarro (any info please Jager on the credibility of the story) as long shots but i'm not getting my hopes up on them. However with the money we should be able to buy another two players.

Mourinho said in his press conference earlier today he wont let gallas or huth go

Quote:
José Mourinho has dismissed suggestions that his carefully assembled squad may be about to undergo a change already as Newcastle United look for potential replacements for Jonathan Woodgate.

With Woodgate heading off to Spain it has been suggested in the media that William Gallas or Robert Huth could be targets to take his place but the Chelsea manager has reacted quickly, stating there is ‘no chance’ they may be on their way.

He further commented: “About Newcastle’s interest I cannot answer but about my interest in them I am absolutely clear. I have no doubts.”

So Chelsea’s French and newly-capped German centre-backs look set to be part of the squad for many games to come but there has been one withdrawal from the party travelling to face Birmingham on Saturday.

You never know Woodgate injury problems may go, it sometimes happen when a player moves club.

good luck to him, its good to see English players go abroad and better still best club in the world.

'I'm gutted to leave Newcastle United..."

Robson and chairman Freddy Shepherd now face the task of replacing undoubtedly their most accomplished defender, although reports today suggest that Everton's England starlet Wayne Rooney is their next target.

someone said u might be getting cannavaro, that wont be happening, the reason real went for woodgate was because they couldnt get cannavro, and no disrespect but i doubt he would ever go to newcastle
