New player....
Robson has landed 18-year-old midfielder N'Zogbia from French Second Division club Le Havre after he impressed during a trial spell on Tyneside earlier in the summer.
"I'm absolutely delighted that we have signed one of the most talented young players in Europe and I'm certain that he will go on and prove to be a great asset to this football club," said Robson.
"We have worked very hard to complete this deal and there was a lot which had to be done over the weekend."

Many good players have joined Tyneside this summer, and I hope we get a new right back. If we do that, I think we can surprise many people this season.

Many good players?? you've signed Kluivert who's only there for the $$$$$$ and Nicky Arse who's decidedly average.
Speed, Lua Lua and Viana have all left so you're squad will be weaker than it was last season.

Speed, Lua Lua and Viana out
Kluivert, Milner and Butt in
IMO Newcastle United have a better squad than last season. Shearer, Kluivert, Bellamy and Ameobi are all good attackers.
We have a good midfield with Butt, Jenas, Dyer, Robert, Bowyer, Milner and Ambrose.
In the defence we have Woodgate, OBrian, Bernard, Hughes, Elliot and Bramble.
Both Given and Harper are good goalkeepers.
If they buy in a new right back, I'm think that The Magpies can play well when PL starts.

I just read on skysports.com that we havent yet signed that young french player yet. With regards to transfers if we get a new right back i think we can achieve more domestically than liverpool can, we have strengthened the squad quality wise, and even though we finished behind you last season (only by 4 points may i add), imho on form we look a much more threatening side that liverpool, just look back two seasons ago where we were still in the race for the title with 5 matches to go with a weaker squad.

they'll be battling with Manure for 4th, simple as.
Milner is the only good buy they've made and he'll be on the bench most of the time.

I agree we wont be realistically challenging the top three, but we will battle with liverpool for 4th not manure as liverpool arent good enough to challenge either.

Footballs a funny thing and with the injuries/suspensions/olympics mounting for Manure they could stumble early. I dont think anyone can guarantee that Manure will run away with a top 3 spot. I think it could be close for 3rd between Pool Manure and Newcastle. But if Manure gets healthy they do run away with that spot. But thats a big if.

Arsenal and Chelski will be fighting it out for the title, we'll get 3rd and Newcastle will battle Manure for 4th.

Again I tend to disagree, I think although liverpool have brought in two good players, I think manre have a better defence (with rio), midfield and attack than newcastle and liverpool, and better squad depth so even with injuries and suspensions etc i feel unfortnately manure will be closer to second than fourth again, i just hope they arent, same with chelski of course as they have to buy their success with overpriced players.
