It would be cool to have another team in NY like i was saying but i hope that they would expand out to other states, before putting multiple teams in the same state. Id love to have one here before the load up NY and Cali and Florida and stuff you know.

what happens in the future though, when the MLS eventually reaches say 40 or even 50 teams??? Do they go US style and just keep expanding the confrences into divisions, or do they follow other contries like italy and arrange a series A and Series B type set up?

Well the MLS is probably going to be like the Euro leagues and have 20 teams in one table. But I doubt they'd ever do relegations like those leagues.

I saw that Frank. However, I don't think we can say Wilpon is "close" to acquiring a team. This is the first it is being reported anywhere and will take some time to gel. I hope they don't end up playing in the Mets new stadium (CitiField). Soccer doesn't work well in baseball parks (IMO). On the other hand, Queens is a great place for a soccer team...can draw Long Island fans and is a natural fit for the most ethnically diverse borough in the nation (I beleive this is true). A soccer-specific stadium alongside the new Mets stadium would be ideal and will easily turn a profit, as hosts of other events can be booked (as will be done with Red Bull park). If the NY metro area can support 3 hockey teams, it can certainly support 2 soccer teams.
(speaking of hockey...sorry to hear you are a Ranger fan Frank. Lifelong Islander supporter here 8) )

Brooklyn played a major role in US soccer back in the early years..They need to build a new soccer specific stadium on the site of the old Metropolitian Oval which is one of the oldest and most famous soccer fields in the Northeast.

IF they can sell out, then absolutely go for it. But with the attendence the Red Bulls get, you have to be wary.

Jason:
RBNY will show improved attendance over the next few years for several reasons:
1- Bruce Arena and management. The organization is being run better and this translates into better quality play.
2- Juan Pablo Angel, Reyna and other genuine top-flight players further add to the quality of play and have thrust RBNY into the top of the standings. NY area fans want to see a winner and will come out to support a team if they win. Period.
3- The new stadium. This is a biggie. A soccer specific stadium which is easily accessible and family friendly will help out alot.
Put these 3 things together and this organization will be fine.
As for a team in Queens...sound good. It is a good location, accessible from all points in the 5 boros and L.I....and with Wilpon at the head, should be run well. I'm for it.

The rest of the country is still being neglected though. My girlfriend lives in the Seattle area, they have shit up there. She hates soccer haha but still, I'll be moving up there with her soon enough and I'd like something better than the Seattle Sounders.

Patience, grasshopper, patience!
Seattle, if I remember correctly, is a ctually a pretty good soccer city...as is Portland (Oregon). In fact, didn't the USMNT play several games in Oregon to insure a pro-US crowd?
Anyway, I think you'll see an MLS team in the northwest eventually...along with one in Vancouver, BC Canada. Would make for a nice little rivalry.

There is no need for an expansion team in the Easternt confrence. It's already messed up that Toronto got the expansion and not an extra team in the west. It makes it more difficult to reach the play-offs in the east.
