I know, I played against them in Rochester, they murdered teams during that tour and our team did the best only losing 6-0. I just missed having 3 goals, the first just missed the post got the save, the next would have been my best goal ever it was a beautiful bicycle that hit the crossbar and the other was one that got underneath the keeper but he got enough of it to slow it down for one of guys to clear before it cleared the goal line.

But get back to Dema, he really is a good guy, he's not as bad as some make him out to be, when he's focused he's great and I would to see him get another shot because he can be damn good.

Im biased, I got to know him very well and hell I was going to go to IU with him before my grades and a hip injury that robbed me of my great pace cost me that chance to do so.

By the way Frank how did you know/remember that I don't remember it being that well publicized, the stadium was packed but it's Rochester, they are soccer mad as well as the fact that Rochester and upstate New York for that matter has a very high Ukrainian immigrant population.

but how did you know about that Rochester tourny, when I played in it, it didn't seem like it was well known other than around western New York.

I don't know what happened to the other guys, I kept in touch with them mostly Dema though, really didn't know the other guys that well but when I didn't make it to IU I ended up playing JUCO soccer and in my 2nd year I made friends who with a kid from Rochester who was good friends with Aleksey Korol or Yuri Lavrinenko, I can't remember which one now. After that year in school I started traveling and up living in England for a year then spending time in Japan and few different places in South America, etc and after that time away and we just lost touch and we were doing are own thing. Last time I talked to him he was with the Chicago Fire.

really I would've loved to have some of that stuff, it was quite an event to play against them and I just wish I would have kept more stuff like the program to find out who else was on that team, Shevchenko was with Dynamo Kiev and is the right age and I was wondering if he was there. It would be great if I could say that I played against him. The only thing I have left from that match was t he cap that they gave us.
