Carolina Challenge Cup
The Charleston Battery will host the fourth annual Carolina Challenge Cup March 24 - 31 at Blackbaud Stadium, Daniel Island. Current Major League Soccer champs the Houston Dynamo return for a second straight visit as does Red Bull New York, this season under the leadership of former US Men’s National Team head coach Bruce Arena. The third MLS side set to appear is the expansion franchise, Toronto FC who will play their first competitive games at Blackbaud Stadium during the pre-season tournament.

The more thing change the more they stay the same
If Red Bulls plan of making a RBNY as big as can be there needs to be sweeping changes and IMO Bruce Arena needs to go because like past coaching/front office regimes they are making glaring mistakes.
It still blows my mind that they traded away Jean-Philippe Peguero when he wanted to stay, they more or less give Amado Guevara. I swear Arena has no business strategy, it doesn't matter that he might not be a player he wants on his squad but others see him as high quality and had much more worth than what they got for him.
Gave away Arvizu as well and now he's bringing in the scum like Agustin "Tin" Delgado.
WTF, really WTF is wrong with this club whether it's the Metro's or Red Bulls.
I was excited about when Red Bull came in and bought the Metros and the money they plan on spending on the cluyb but until they get management squared away the club will be nothing more than average because they just give away talent.
I look at this 2007 roster and I'm very unimpressed and to think that what could have been. I realize you have to get trade talent to get talent but I don't think Metros/RBNY realize this and for the most part give away player or work other angles to keep certain key young players such as Ricardo Clark, Tim Ward, Eddie Gaven, David Arvizu, Jean-Philippe Peguero and others.
The club is poorly run, I like the fact that Claudio Reyna is back home but you find away to bring him home without using a DP slot, thats not the point of them and they should have found another way to bring him home. This is also part of MLS fault as well and there should be an exception for our star players returning home to finish off there careers. THe DP's were meant for the Beckhams that wouldn't have come to the league before whille they still had somthing left, players that would help create a buzz they would help sell soccer to more kids and to prove to them that it's here to stay, etc., etc.
The point is that this money from Red Bull is all for not if the more thing change the more they stay the same, continues to happen. As of now it seem like nothing has changed and that it might be for the worse and IMO the best thing to do is get rid of Arena, his decisions are terrible and I'm suprised that Altidore and Wynne are still Red Bulls.

New York Red Bulls Training Programs are excited to announce the addition of two residential camps to the team's player development system. Through exclusive partnerships with East Stroudsburg University (PA) and the new Golden Goal Youth Soccer Park (Lake George, NY region), these residential training camps are being offered in each of these locations during summer 2007.
The first training week will be held Sunday, June 24, through Friday, June 29, at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. This Residential Development School week features the exclusive RDS curriculum and coaching team, and focuses primarily on individual technique and skill development. Specifically for advanced players aged 11 - 14, this intensive week of training covers all the technical, tactical, and theoretical aspects necessary to take a player's game to the next level.
The second training week, hosted at the all-inclusive Golden Goal Youth Soccer Park runs from Sunday, August 26, through Thursday, August 30. Providing a unique Olympic-style experience, the camp combines high level pre-season soccer training with tournament play and team-building activities. With a curriculum based around our Strengths Based Coaching Philosophy, the camp focuses on children's talents to enhance performance and confidence. Participants and coaches live and eat in the self-contained Athlete Village with all of the other teams. Families of the players are encouraged to visit the facility daily, and vacation in the Lake George/Saratoga Springs area. The region provides countless recreational opportunities for off-site activities and family fun.
"Each training week provides a unique training environment," said Technical Director, Jeff Agoos. "In addition to an intensive curriculum, players also have opportunities to partake in daily tournaments and special activities that help build team cohesion and personal confidence."
