Wow that mistake by Walker on the second DC goal! He's been so steady for you guys. Agree with you that a lot of guys seemed to take the afternoon off defensively.

yea that seemed to be the 1 goal that was his fault... 11 goals in 3 games... that isn't good, but it really isn't all his fault... eric wynalda is a moron. Was complaining that galvan rey and magee weren't working up top when the metros down 4-1... when you allow 6 goals in a game something else isn't working and it isn't the offense...

Not sure the Brazilians want to come here. Not much repsect yet in Brazil for MLS -- from comments made during pre-season tours MLS teams have made to Brazil.

Default Metros vs Quakes July 10th [R]

Metros (5-6-4) are at home this saturday against the Quakes (4-5-5) who are also on a bad streak and winless in their last 4. The game will be played at 4pm est at Giants Stadium and shown on espn2. 5 players will miss this game due to the u.s.-poland friendly on sunday. 3 Quakes and 2 Metros.

REFEREE: Kevin Terry. SAR (bench): Tom Supple; JAR (opposite): Ken Kaplan; 4th: Ken Heller
MLS Career: 93 games; FC/gm: 30.5; Y/gm: 2.8; R: 32; pens: 39
Games involving MetroStars: P20 W13 L5 T2; FC/gm: 31.5; Y/gm: 2.8; R: 8; pens: 10
Games involving Earthquakes: P17 W8 L6 T3; FC/gm: 29.9; Y/gm: 2.8; R: 7; pens: 8
INJURY REPORT: METROSTARS - OUT: MD Michael Bradley (R foot stress fracture); MD Gilberto Flores (L ankle ruptured tendon); MD Mark Lisi (R ankle sprain); FW Cornell Glen (L quadriceps strain); DF Tim Regan (L knee MCL sprain) ... SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES - OUT: DF Chris Roner (R ankle surgery); DF Eddie Robinson (L hamstring rupture); DOUBTFUL: DF Troy Dayak (upper back sprain); QUESTIONABLE: FW Jamil Walker (R ankle sprain); DF Jeff Agoos (R calf strain); PROBABLE: MD Ramiro Corrales (R knee sprain); DF Craig Waibel (R quadriceps contusion)
INTERNATIONAL ABSENCES: MET: Eddie Pope, Eddie Gaven (USA; July 11 v Poland) ... SJ: Brian Ching, Brian Mullan, Landon Donovan (USA; July 11 v Poland)
SUSPENDED: none
YELLOW PERIL: MET: Jeff Parke (19 CP); Ricardo Clark (18 CP) ... SJ: Brian Mullan (16 CP)

HEAD-TO-HEAD
ALL-TIME (21 meetings): MetroStars 5 wins (0 shootout), 29 goals ... Earthquakes 11 wins (2 shootout), 37 goals ... 5 draws
AT GIANTS STADIUM (10 meetings): MetroStars 3 wins (0 shootout), 17 goals ... Earthquakes 3 wins (0 shootout), 13 goals ... 4 draws

Gaven gets his first senior nat call in which could be bad for the metros, as he has been the one bright light in our recent bad stretch. Eddie Pope will also be unavailable meaning others will have to really pick up the slack on defense. Thankfully Johnny Walker wasn't called in so that should help. The Quakes will be missing their top goal scorer in Brian Ching, and of course Donovan, along with Brian Mullan.

This will be a close scrappy game with key players missing. I'm predicting a 2-1 metros win, since they will be at home and all... tho i wouldn't be suprised by a 1-1 tie.

Default 3 Metros to start in All-Star Game

Defender Eddie Pope, in his seventh All-Star Game, will lead the MetroStars contingent as the leading vote-getter in balloting among the MLS players while also tied with Donovan in balloting by the coaches and GMs and the media. Pope will be joined by 17-year-old midfielder Eddie Gaven, who becomes the youngest player ever selected to start an MLS All-Star Game. The MetroStars trio is completed with midfielder Amado Guevara.

taken from the metros official site.

Definitely the 3 I would pick
