Revolution acquire midfielder Luke Vercollone from the Columbus Crew
4/24/04 1:31 PM
The New England Revolution announced today the acquisition and signing of midfielder Luke Vercollone. Originally drafted by the Columbus Crew in the 5th Round (42nd overall) in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft, Vercollone moves to the Revolution in exchange for New England’s 5th round selection in the 2005 SuperDraft. As a Developmental player, Vercollone will not occupy a position on the Revolution’s 18-man senior roster. Per league and team policy, terms of the contract are not disclosed.
Vercollone, a Kingston, Mass., native, played soccer at Silver Lake Regional High School in Kingston. He was named All-State, All-Conference and team MVP as a senior and captained the squad that year as well. Vercollone led Silver Lake to Old Colony League titles in both his sophomore and junior seasons.
Vercollone went on to a standout collegiate career at Seton Hall University, and as a senior in 2003, captained the Pirates to a 9-6-4 record, earning All-Big East First Team and adidas/NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Region All-America First Team honors for his play. Vercollone helped Seton Hall to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances during his career with the Pirates.
Vercollone also helped the Cape Cod Crusaders of the Premier Development League (USL - Fourth Division) to national championships in 2002 and 2003 and was the team’s MVP in 2003.

Pierce almost ready
http://www.mlsnet.com/MLS/news/mls_n..._mls&fext=.jsp
Finally we are starting to get some of our guys back thats good news. Rusty is a good player even if he can only play part of a game for a few matches he would have been very valuable all year. Take the SJ game where Nicol didn't sub anyone in because he didn't trust them even when they were all gassed. Having a few more options would allow him to make timely late game subs. This is good news.
On a downside though we still won't have Adin yet, although Reis has played well enough. Although missing Dempsey might be the biggest loss for the game.

Come on. Missing 7+starters the majority of the first half and still within a win of third. Jeeze. Isn't it about time for the Metrostars end of season slump and the Revs winning streak? We'll be first by the end of the year.
90% of our losses have been unlucky. Give some credit where it's due. And if we're so bad why can't your beloved Metroscum beat us?
