When I said striker I meant second striker not a pure box player .

Whether or not this happens is totally up to them.

To me, this is a waste of a great talent, and using a player in a position that is deep in Europe, and then you give up the AM position, which when it comes to big clubs, is not so deep.

That is my rational. Come on Milan, strikers are not the problem. Getting some help for Pirlo, replacing a CM, CB and one fullback and keeper are.

To be honest...I cant see this happening.Either Milan pick up a younger yet more experienced then Pato to partner him or they work on revamping the defence. They need desperate help in that area.Kaladze and Nesta are safe positions but Cafu and Serginho just retired.Simic doesnt play at all.Maldini, god bless him, is an unknown whether he will play next season or not and well aside from that theres...Bonera he's been pretty sloppy lately. They need a back up Rb for Oddo and a back up LB for Jankulovski.2 supporting Cb's who can play well as well.Their defence isnt so bad.

Midfield they addressed with Flamini but they need creative support.Pirlo is being over run and Gattuso hasnt helped out much aside from the big games.Gourcuff has been a massive let down and why was Emerson signed????

The midfield needs help imo.

Getting rid of Carlo and getting in say, Jose Mourinho, is not a change for the sake of change. It's a change for the sake of getting better and actually winning.

And Carlo is to blame for the team getting older. He should have been buying replacements YEARS AGO!

Carlo to replace Mancio? Surely you mean Jose to replace Mancio?

How about Lippi as manager of Milan? He might fancy a chance to get back at Inter for how he was treated there.

Yes that is what I meant.

Lippi is the number one person to replace Carlo. Lippi is NOT liked by the Curva Nord. They hate him.

In reality it's the likes of Galliani, Berlusconi, etc that are to blame.

Ancelotti has less to do with the transfers than you think.

Milan have acquired the half of Boriello's registration that Genoa had, and have re-signed Abbiati from Atletico Madrid. Dida, who has repeatedly refused to terminate his contract, is now their third keeper and risks becoming the Brazilian Winston Bogarde.

Default Milan Set To Be Handed Champions League Place

Quote:
Milan are on the verge of being handed a place in next season’s Champions League as a replacement for Bulgarian side CSKA Sofia.

The Rossoneri missed out on a place in Europe’s premier club competition after they only finished fifth in Serie A, following a hugely disappointing campaign.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men, who have been the dominant side in the competition over the past six years, winning two editions, and reaching a final, semi-final and quarter-final, were gearing themselves to play in the UEFA Cup in 2008/09.

However the Diavoli could now be on the verge of being granted a sensational back-door entry back into the Champions League. Bulgarian champions CSKA Sofia could be expelled from the competition due to financial problems,

CSKA have been denied a license to play in the Bulgarian league, and the Bulgarian FA (BFU) has now demanded that they be expelled from Europe too.

The normal procedure is that the BFU send the runner-up Levski Sofia to the CL instead, however it is reported that instead of this, the highest UEFA ranked team not already in the competition will be the replacement, and this is Milan.

The Rossoneri would enter at the second preliminary round, and it would mean that Italy would have five teams in the Champions League, the others being Inter, Roma, Juventus and Fiorentina.

It would be funny if they ended up in the Champions League after all, but there are conflicting reports atm, different websites say Levski Sofia will take the place.

^ If this actually goes through, it would be fucking bullshit.

They can't go to the CL through the back door. It's totally unfair.

They finished 5th place and that's a UEFA Cup slot. Bayern Munich ended in 4th and we went to the UEFA Cup.

There shouldn't be any favors or whatever.

It's not gonna happen...

Quote:
Milan's CL lifeline disappears Wednesday 4 June, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Milan will not play in next season's Champions League, even if Bulgarian side CSKA Sofia are expelled.

The Rossoneri were heartbroken when they were beaten to fourth place by Fiorentina last season and they face the indignity of sitting out the tournament they have made their own over the years.

Milan’s fans and players appeared to have been handed a lifeline as Bulgaria’s FA has asked that champions CSKA Sofia are banned from the Champions League due to financial problems.

This would open up a space in the second preliminary round, which may have been given to the side with the highest UEFA ranking that aren’t already involved in the competition – Milan.

However, it has now emerged that it will be left to the Bulgarian officials to designate the UEFA license to second-placed side Levski Sofia.

Milan will have to make do with the UEFA Cup next term as expected.

It's nothing to do with doing Milan a favour, they have the highest UEFA ranking of the teams that aren't already in the competition. So in a way they would have earnt the right to be there due to their performances in Europe over the last few years.

But it won't happen anyway.
