Mourinho wouldn't be the first person to experience something like that, it's even happened at Chelsea.

Remember Ranieri? He had the decency to see the season out.

I don't know what the big deal is anyway. He quit, so what? People are getting defensive about it when I see no need. This is football, people don't always act with the best integrity (anyone that follows Calcio knows that ).

Well Mourinho is too arrogant to accept a situation like that.

I just don't agree that he is a quitter, given the circumstances, I totally agree with his decisions.

But anyway, lets get back on topic.
There was a report a few days ago that Mourinho could be on his way to München and would take Drogba would him

Even after reading Sven's and your comments, in my opinion, he quit. He might not have been a "quitter" per say, but he is a quitter in the sense, that he didn't like what he saw, and he walked out.

To some, that is power and standing up in what you believe in, to others, that is quitting and walking out on a club, right or wrong.

The noble thing would of been to stay with the club for an entire season, then do it, or do it in the summer. Why he had to wait two games into the season, or whatever it was, is beyond me.

Then you have the fact that he did this with two clubs now......he did this with Porto also?

Management must manage, coaches must coach, there has to be some middle ground, and if the relationship was soiled from the begining, then so be it.

One more thing, if he didn't like the control at Chelsea, he definitely won't like it at Milan or Barca for that matter.
It will take Roman a number of years to work his way out of this one.

At Porto he had 1 more year with the club, but Chelsea wanted him and he was ready for a new challenge. He didn't quit, Chelsea paid Porto 5m € to take Mourinho away.

Milan set for Chelsea two? Monday 7 January, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are renewed reports that Jose Mourinho is set for the Milan job this summer and that he will bring Chelsea star Didier Drogba with him.

The pressure is mounting on Carlo Ancelotti in the Rossoneri hot seat as he prepares to try and remedy a stuttering start to the Serie A campaign.

Despite delivering the Club World Cup in December, Ancelotti has been heavily criticised as his side have fallen out of Scudetto contention.

Mourinho is waiting to return to management and there were whispers that he turned down the England job as he had already agreed a deal with a top European side.

The Portuguese tactician has hinted that the Diavolo have approached him and according to the People, his arrival could attract the unsettled Drogba to San Siro.

The prolific Ivorian hitman was one of Mourinho’s most committed disciples and admits that he is headed for a Stamford Bridge exit.

“At the moment I think that at the end of the season I want to leave Chelsea,” Drogba told Eurosport.

“I have played here for two or three years already and the departure of Mourinho certainly didn’t help me. On the contrary, it made my desire for a fresh start still greater.”

The People suggests that Milan would need to table an offer of £40m to convince Chelsea to relinquish their grip on Drogba.

People.co.uk - Drog in £40m Milan deal to rejoin Jose

Quote:
DIDIER Drogba's sensational £40million move to AC Milan is back on with Jose Mourinho set to be named the Italian giants boss in the summer.

The African striker has been linked with Milan since Mourinho was sacked earlier in the season, but now with the former Chelsea boss in line to take over from Carlo Ancelotti, Drogba is set to leave.

Drogba, 29, has been in constant contact with Mourinho since his shock exit from Stamford Bridge and is desperate to play for the Portuguese boss again having told friends that he will leave.

AC Milan have become fed up with Ancelotti's side under performing and have told Mourinho that the job is his and Drogba is his number one target.

A source said: "Drogba has told his Chelsea team-mates that he will be leaving in the summer to join Mourinho at AC Milan when he gets the job.

"That is why Avram Grant is so desperate to bring in two or three top striker in the January transfer window. Then they will have six months to settle before Drogba leaves."

The Ivory Coast striker is currently injured and struggling to be fit for their African Nations Cup opener against Nigeria in Ghana on January 21 and he could be away for five weeks.

That's the reason Madrid fired Capelo twice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ....
Winning trophies isn't enough !!
When I watch Real Madrid I always want them to play fast beautiful football. Last year, I turned the TV off after I saw the players loosing the ball one after time, without trying to play attractively on the attack ...!!
Bad football which wins trophies sux !!

Good point. Though one could argue that Real Madrid could afford to make that luxury. Other teams would hail him as a saviour. So it really is a matter of perspective.

I understand your point completely. However I believe there was more involved in letting go of Capello, than Real management is willing to admit. I think there was a clash of egos. Capello demands absolute control, not unlike JM.

What do you need good football if you don't win shit? That's what sucks.

Football is winning. Winning games, winning trophies.

Winning trophies > Good football, anyday.

Mourinho may not play good football (your opinion), but he does bring you silverware.

He's a great coach, and I don't think he plays bad football.

I think a lot of fans have a love affair with the Zidane led Real Madrid that went all the way, and that all teams should play that way, which is completely unrealistic.

Real Madrid is the largest entity in the sport, they usually buy their way out of trouble, I don't see this changing.
