Huge increase in Milan season ticket sales
Quote:
Milan’s season ticket boom
Thursday 28 June, 2007
With a mouth-watering campaign in prospect, Rossoneri fever has swept Milan and season ticket sales have rocketed.
The Diavoli have reported 21,344 early ticket sales – an increase of over 13,000 from this time last year.
The bumper ticket sales may be a result of winning the Champions League and the excitement generated by the club’s search for a high-profile striker.
If the Via Turati outfit are able to lure one of Samuel Eto’o, Andriy Shevchenko or Didier Drogba to the San Siro they can expect to sail past last season’s final total of 37,300 season tickets sold.
Serie A attendances have been in decline in recent years, but Milan still boasted an average gate of 47,000 last term – second only to Inter – in spite of the Calciopoli gloom.
It is estimated that Milan’s advanced sales will generate almost £5m for the club.

That's what happens when you win the CL. more revenue starts coming in from every direction. Let's hope they follow it up with another great year.

More than the revenue it brings, I love the fact that San Siro will be even fuller this coming season

Nothing to write home about really ... last season's ticket sales were awful for a club like Milan but as we all know that was mostly the result of the calciopoli and thus the league losing credibility in the eyes of the fans.
P.S. Nice to see you here Henrik !

that's good news!
milan fans have many reasons to be interested in their team more than last season:
CL win.
Milan are serious challengers for the scudetto.
milan have the new no.1 player in the world(now it is more official than last season!).
Ronaldo. everyone want to see the legend in live performance.
that's all I can think of

GALLIANI: "THANKS!"
7/5/2007 1:29:00 PM
Milan has reached the 30,000 season tickets for next season. Adriano Galliani reassured the first 30,000 season ticket holders Rossoneri: "This is a promise. Kaka is not for sale."
MILAN - Thirty thousand season tickets for the 2007-08 season. Incredible figures! Milan is not insensible and will never be. For this reason Adriano Galliani, Managing Director of the Rossoneri, thanks the fans through ACMilan.com. With a lot of enthusiasm and with a promise:
"I thank them all, one by one, all of these 30,000 season ticket holders. To them and the other numerous Rossoneri fans who will be season ticket holders for next season I want to assure them that Ricardo Kaka is not for sale at any price. It's a promise which I make in the name of President Berlusconi."

I don't know how many more times they need to say that Kaka is staying. I guess they feel that they let the fans down last summer with Sheva...

Milan released this article on their website on how truly great tha Milan fans are, and how our ticket sales are soring.
Quote:
YOU ARE TRULY SPECIAL
7/13/2007 12:12:00 PM
From the Scudetto party of 1988 after Como-Milan to the great demonstration of enthusiasm of this Subscription Campaign: the Milan fans never cease to surprise
MILAN - The Milan Subscription Campaign 2007-08 has already crossed the 36.000 margin. The journey is without sudden pitstops or Bermuda triangles. It proceeds steadily, brilliantly, full of enthusiasm. The Rossoneri's fanbase continues to evoke adjectives but particularly reveals itself in one way. SPECIAL. Wonderfully special.
Milan are, like every season recently, the team that fills its stadium, San Siro, more than any other in terms of subscription sales and regular ticket sales, but also in terms of presences in other stadiums it goes to play at in Italy and Europe. The Milan players are those who play and win, but those who support Milan and football aficionados in general appreciate not only their victories but also their quality and spirit.
More than 36.000 Subscribers halfway into July 2007. Here are the other cases in the past where Milan fans beat and surprised everyone:
15 May 1988: incredible word-of-mouth. Without anything organised or announced, San Siro is completely sold out in a magical evening for the Scudetto party after the afternoon Como-Milan league match.
24 May 1989: a city that moved into another city. The Camp Nou stadium at Barcelona is only Rossonero for the European Cup final between Milan and Steaua.
Summer 1989 - Summer 1990 - Summer 1992: Milan repeatedly exceeds 70.000 mark for subscribers to the team's home Serie A games.
Summer 2001 - Summer 2002: the Rossoneri fans fill the square in front of the Central Station for the presentation, at the Gallia Hotel, of Rui Costa and Inzaghi, and of Rivaldo and Nesta.
25 May 2005: Milan lose the Istanbul Champions League final on penalties but in a letter from Uefa to Milan there is a special chapter dedicated to the correctness and sporting spirit of the Rossoneri fans at the end of the match played at the Ataturk stadium.
9 August 2006: 70.000 Rossoneri fans are at San Siro to watch the preliminary round for participation to the Champions League between Milan and Red Star Belgrade.

Luciano Spalletti believes Milan will be title contenders along with Inter. As do many people seeing as they won CL. I hope we have a close race for the title like Spain had...that was great to watch the last game.

Spalletti is just downplaying Romas chances to jinx Milan and Inter. Inter are clearly favorites, after that it's an open field.

I just don't see Inter being 30 points worse than last season and us being that much better. We can always hope though

Inter being 30 points worse than last season, probably not.
Milan being significantly better is a very real possibility though, especially if (as I do) you believe that Milan's main problems were confidence and bizarre bad luck (injuries, how many times the strikers hit the post, etc.). It's not like the current Milan side is incapable of quality performance-- winning the CL plus having a number of excellent Serie A games should be proof enough of that-- and the CL win should help immensely in the confidence department.

agreed.
I realy see milan as an equal rival to inter for the scudetto.. they look close to signing another striker, also, so their squad is quite good.
I hope all 4 teams - inter, milan, juve, roma - would be close till the end. that could be fantastic. and possible.
