LECCO - Con questa formazione il Milan si appresta ad affrontare il Lecco: Dida, Cafu, Bonera, Kaladze, Serginho, Gattuso, Brocchi, Ambrosini, Seedorf, Kakà, Ronaldo. In panchina: Kalac, Nesta, Simic, Favalli, Pirlo, Caraglia, Oddo, Aubameyang, Jankulovski.

THose are the starting line-ups. Gourcuff was said to strat but no whe isn't even on the bench, I hope he hasn't picked up an injury. THough he most likely has if he has been excluded to this extent.

Inzaghi and Gila are both "injured" in the sense that Gila is recovering from his knee operation, while Pippo is suffering for some muscle fatigue or something.

LECCO - Finisce 0-1 il primo tempo tra Lecco e Milan: rossoneri in vantaggio grazie al gol, al 40', di Ronaldo, primo marcatore della nuova stagione. La squadra di Ancelotti aveva già sfiorato la rete con una combinazione tra lo stesso Ronie e Seedorf e, due volte, con Kakà, apparso già in buona forma. Su una sua conclusione dalla distanza, al 30', bravissimo il portiere lecchese. Al 25' infortunio per Campi, costretto ad uscire per una distorsione. Al suo posto è entrato Bonfanti.

LECCO - Questo il commento di Serginho ai microfoni di Milan Channel, tra il primo e il secondo tempo di Lecco-Milan: 'La squadra sta dimostrando di stare bene, nonostante un po' di normale fatica visto che abbiamo appena ripreso la preparazione. Ci siamo mossi bene, dopo due mesi di vacanze è importante aver ritrovato il ritmo partita'.

Sergio had to say this during half time:
"The team has demonstrated that they can stay well, there is a bit of normal fatigue. We are very well, after two months of holidays it's imposrtant to have refound the rythm of the game."

LECCO - E' finita al 'Rigamonti-Ceppi': Milan batte Lecco 0-4, grazie ai gol di Ronaldo nel primo tempo, di Kakà, Brocchi e Seedorf nella ripresa. Ricky segna all'11', su passaggio dello stesso Seedorf e, al 26', offre a Brocchi il pallone del terzo gol. Chiude il punteggio, al 42', il numero 10 olandese, su assist di Pirlo.

YAY!! A much better result than last year! RONIE, KAKA, BROCCHI AND SEEDORF! All with the goals. Grazie Milan. Nice to see us scoring quite a few goals.

Friendlies: Ron opens Milan account Sunday 29 July, 2007

Ronaldo and Kaka were on target in Milan’s first friendly of the summer, a comfortable 4-0 win over Lecco.

The Rossoneri are the last Serie A side to get their pre-season training started and Il Fenomeno scored their opening goal of the 2007-08 campaign.


Clarence Seedorf’s through ball allowed Ronaldo to spring the offside trap and beat the goalkeeper with a precise right-foot finish.


Seedorf was in fine form and also set up the second for Kaka before completing the scoring himself.


Cristian Brocchi got in on the action for the third, tapping in the rebound from Kaka’s parried effort.


There was a definite Selecao feel to the side, as Brazilians Marcos Cafu, Serginho, Kaka and Ronaldo combined brilliantly.


In the second half Seedorf hit the upright and Massimo Oddo also appeared to be in good form with some promising crosses.


“This team knows itself so well by now. We played with a good tempo and some fine football,” commented Carlo Ancelotti.


“I liked the style of the goals too. It has been a useful week. Kaka and Ronaldo have such quality that you can see it even though they are tired from the lack of match fitness.”

Ancelotti Hails Superb Understanding

Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti was understandably delighted with his team's display against Lecco.


An emphatic 4-0 win over Lecco sent out an early warning to all Scudetto contenders, as Milan began with a bang.

Ancelotti hailed the great understanding the players showed on the pitch, always anticipating well, always passing just into the spaces their teammates were about to run into.

"This team knows itself so well by now," he said. "We played with a good tempo and some very fine football.

"I liked the style of the goals too. It has been a useful week.

"Kaka and Ronaldo have such quality that you can see it even though they are tired from the lack of match fitness."

digao didn't play but we did have a brazilian feel of Sergio, Dida, Cafu, Ronie and Kaka. Digao has been training seperately at late so maybe soon he will start playing.
