Good we NEED Gattuso there, and knowing him, he will not give up until he is recovered.

Ronaldo could be out of action for a month with a thigh problem.

Injury prone where ever he goes. Good thing the season is over.

It'll be a shame if he misses the last few games though, he could do with the matches.

It's ok i guess. Luckily for him he can't play in CL. or this would be a massive blow. Would of been nice for him to play more, but he has the off season to prepare and get back to 100% for next season. I think he will be top scorer next year.

Frankly, I'm surprised he's gone THIS long without something like this happening. As I've said before, he simply does not look healthy if you watch him throughout the match.

We can survive just fine in Serie A without him, though this truly sucks for us in terms of squad depth. Ronaldo would have been very nice to have around so that we don't have to risk overplaying Gila and Pippo-- particularly Pippo, considering his recent pain problems-- in the lead-up to Athens.

Oliveira and Borriello may now get a chance to save their Milan careers if they can capitalize on this situation...

Here's acmilan.com's version of the Ronaldo news, which is naturally more positive-sounding:
Quote:
MAYBE RONALDO FOR SUNDAY
5/4/2007

Ronaldo felt a pain high in his adductor muscle during training and will have treatment although he is a doubt for Sunday's game against Fiorentina.

To be honest I'd put that down to the Milan coaching staff, they've done a great job in getting him fit and keeping him healthy.

At Madrid he was injured every other week.

Oliveira was going to play regardless. And Borriello is secured of his place, isn't he? Wonder if any other players are feeling any aches and pains from Wednesdays game? Any injured players must now until the 23rd, take the time to recover. Forget about Serie A in the week of the 19th and don't risk anyone! I would even rest Dida. With his recent injury problems, you never know when that shoulder may act up!

Yeah, very true. And though I complain about his apparent level of health, I think it's unquestionable that it's been consistently improving (well, maybe except for that last game...) ever since he came to Milan. Milan has been very good for him; he's gotten another serious chance at health and the potential for a few more years on the pitch, which is something he may not have gotten elsewhere (certainly not if he had stayed at Madrid).

Borriello secured of his place in what way, do you mean?

Dida I'm not sure what to do with to be honest, on one hand I agree with you about resting him because of his recurring shoulder problem, but on the other hand I think his confidence really benefits from being played regularly.

Though, if Toni plays on Sunday, Dida or no Dida I think we're unlikely to keep a clean sheet. Maybe it's better if Dida stays happy about his Man Utd clean sheet a little longer rather than probably conceding to Fiorentina? Not sure about this one.

Borriello hasn't secured his place i don't think. I don't think carlo rates him so highly and news in Italy is sugesting he could go to Livorno when Lucareli leaves.

THough for tomorrows game Rone's injury is a blow because there will be no Gila or him now.

A.C. MILAN OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
5/5/2007
A.C. Milan have announced that Ronaldo was examined today by its medical staff and they found evidence of a pulled left hamstring. Ronaldo will be evaluated further over the upcoming days.

Here's the latest situation, compiled from various articles on acmilan.com:

- Ronaldo: pulled hamstring, out for probably at least 15 days.
- Seedorf: has (or had?) a fever, but is in the squad.
- Gattuso: picked up a knock and hasn't recovered, but is in the squad.
- Maldini: knee.
- Others?: Ancelotti says, "As of yesterday, those that had played on Wednesday hadn’t yet recovered totally but they will by Sunday." (And they're in the squad.)

Carlo says:

“Ambrosini picked up a knock, while Paolo Maldini, Inzaghi and Kaka also have a few problems."

Ronaldo may or may not be ready to play yet, and Dida is mysteriously absent from the squad so may have a "secret injury".

The latest news on the Bad Knee Bros.:
Quote:
FROM THE TRAINING PITCH
5/31/2007 3:07:00 PM
Head of Milan athletic preparation, Daniele Tognaccini has speaking about Milan's pre-season fitness programme and the recovery time for Paolo Maldini and Alberto Gilardino

Daniele Tognaccini, head of Milan athletic preparation, has been going over the fitness routines the players in the summer and situation regarding Paolo Maldini and Alberto Gilardino after their operations.

'We will work for a few more days to prepare for next season and look over the data to see where we arrived throughtout the year to solve any problems we had. We also do it so we commit fewer mistakes in the future.

'Milan passed the last 10-12 weeks in excellent health. They showed that in the Manchester United game, where they put everything we had done into practise although they had played well previously to that. It's important that the players rest now. They have all received the programme they need to follow until we come back on July 23. The players are great professionals and they will manage it well when they are back for pre-season training.

'We will also take a break and I think we deserve it. It has been a splendid season. Maldini and Gilardino are fine after their operations and will remain in Belgium until Friday. We will look at the situation next week but Gilardino will be working to recover straightaway while Maldini will have a period of complete inactivity.'
A.C. Milan - FROM THE TRAINING PITCH

Also, Ambro has an injury and might not be able to play for the Azzurri:

ITALY: AMBRO DOUBT
5/31/2007
Italy coach Roberto Donadoni looks to have lost Gianluca Zambrotta and Massimo Ambrosini to injury ahead of the EURO 2008 qualifier against the Faroe Islands at the weekend. Barcelona full-back Zambrotta has a knee problem while Milan's Ambrosini is still feeling a strain to his calf picked up in the Champions League final.
