Default OFFICIAL: Milan sign Ronaldinho - squad number 80!

Milan are in the pol eposition to sign Ronaldinho should Barcelona decide to sell him.
Not sure if there is a thread on this...searched but nothing

Quote:
Milan in pole for ‘Dinho
Monday 19 February, 2007
Milan have amazingly declared that they will sign Ronaldinho if Barcelona decide to sell the samba star.

The Italian giants have been strongly linked with a multi-million pound summer move and they are refusing to rule out the Brazilian’s proposed arrival.

“The player knows of our interest and Barcelona are aware of it too, but we are not looking to disturb anyone,” Vice-President Adriano Galliani told Sky Italia on Monday night.

“I can’t see a powerful and rich club like Barcelona getting to a point where they would sell him, but if that occurs then we would be in pole position.”

Galliani’s statement came just days after January signing Ronaldo scored his first goals for the club with a brace at Siena.

“The merit goes to Milan Lab who managed to resolve a few of his physical problems,” added the official. “He was in pain after initial training sessions, but that is no longer the case.”

The former Inter crowd favourite returned to Italian football last month after falling out of favour with Real Madrid’s Fabio Capello.

“I knew what I was buying,” added Galliani. “Everyone is aware of the technical quality of the player. I simply asked for him and I got him.

“The last great foreign player to move to Italy was bought by Juventus when they got Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Now we have brought back a real star.”

Galliani also spoke about the future of boss Carlo Ancelotti after recent whispers claimed that Barcelona tactician Frank Rijkaard, an ex-Milan player, could arrive in June.

“The career of a Coach depends on results,” stated the former Lega Calcio President. “Carlo has done well in these years.

“I think and hope he will continue to do so this year, while he still has a contract with us for next season.

“I would be the happiest man in the world if Ancelotti stayed with us for some years to come, because it would mean that we would have collected some great results.”

I can only see Ronaldinho signing for Milan if they sell Kaka, otherwise they just won't be able to finance the deal.

I don't want Ronny, and I don't want to give up Kaka to sign him. That would be incredibly stupid from our point of view.

nor am I convinced that Ronny can play in Serie A or be the same player he is in la liga or on the world stage.

Milan are apparently ready to start negotiations with Barcelona to sign Ronaldinho.

Milan will sure be opening up the bank on this one if they can manage to pull this off. I think Ronaldinho could adapt to any style of football, he is that good. Crespo will sure be voicing his opinion if the sign him. Considering Milan told him that they wanted to save money. I hope Milan sign him and could manage to keep Kaka. "AC Brazil" will be sure Scudetto contenders and CL as well.

I really can't see this happening still.

from a league standpoint, it would be a shot in the arm for Serie a

All these great players from Brazil playing in milan for Inter or us.

U could by 3 world class players for it would cost for Ronaldhino. Waste of money. U already have Kaka and Gourcuff.

completely agree, we don't need him, its not an area where we need to improve but these things have alterior motives

i believe ronny wants to play in milan so he is close to all the other brazilians

he also very marketable, so there could be a lot of kit sales

the cost could be covered

I more or less worried about the team makeup

we have the best brazilian, we don't need this guy

Berlusconi seems to agree with me, Ronaldinho can only be signed if Kaka leaves.

Interesting....Milan should focus on netting Buffon. Kaka is younger and a crucial part of the club. If they can reach a deal with Juve for a swap of Gilardin/Buffon plus cash. That would be a main priority deal. This way they can keep Kaka and get a top replacement for Dida.
