Maldini never tempted by Juve
Quote:
Rossoneri legend Paolo Maldini says he has never considered switching Milan for Juventus, despite interest from the Turin club.
The 38-year-old's career has spanned an incredible 23 seasons, and the Milan-born defender has never played a single minute of football for any other club.
Paolo's father Cesare also played for the Diavolo, and the Maldini family has a strong connection with the club, something the former Italy international believes has helped him keep his ties with the San Siro club.
"Me at Juve? I've always known of their interest, especially that of president [Giampiero] Boniperti and of [Gianni] Agnelli," Maldini said.
"But they know of my history, and that of my family, and how I am tied to Milan.
"I've never been tempted."
Maldini was speaking after his side beat bitter rivals Juventus 3-2 in the Berlusconi Cup at the San Siro and ahead of the re-start to the season, scheduled for the weekend of January 13/14.

He was actually wanted by Chelsea about 6 or 7 years ago but he turned them down, there was no turning back after that.

Really? I can't remember to be honest.
He is a legend, but he should pack it up now.

I think it was only revealed recently, I believe it was when Vialli was in charge and he made a move. From what I gather he got as far as speaking to Maldini but he turned them down.

oh yeah, for sure. Maldini grew up around AC Milan, when he was a kid. Came up through their system, and now has become a legend.
He would never leave, no matter what....not by his doing anyway.

I think he was closer to a move than you're led to believe though. It was when he was 30/31 so realistically it was his last chance to move to a big European club. I can't remember the details but in the end he made up his mind to stay, which obviously turned out to be the right decision.
