Well, we do need another striker in my opinion, but we don't need Sheva specifically.
Why I say we need another striker (or two, if we lose one of the current ones) is:
- Ronaldo and Pippo are continual injury issues and I don't see this changing next season. I don't want to have to count on them to always be available, especially since playing them when they're not 100% ready only makes their injury problems worse.
- Oliveira doesn't score enough.
- Gila is presently fine in terms of health and scoring, but tends to accumulate yellow cards (diving, talking back to refs, fouling).
- We don't use Borriello.
If we have enough depth, we can afford to have all of these ^ issues, but we really do need depth.

Agreed, we do need someone new. We need some creative like Ibra (not that I wnat him) but someone with his ability. He can create... and Milan were lacking that at one stage.
However good Ronie and Pippo are we do need someone to have as a back up too. Because injury worries have been aorund them for a long time in recent years and we can't afford to fall short again, like we did against Firoentina.

I agree, our creativity fluctuates. This is going to happen to some extent no matter what, but an additional creative player-- especially a "support striker"-- would REALLY help to make us more consistent in that regard. We need a more solid "bridge" between the midfield and finishers, or we'll at some point be left with Stranded Striker Syndrome again.
And as you said, Fiorentina was a perfect example of our striker depth nearly running dry. Plus, whenever there is any question during a season of having to play a recently-returned-from-injury player out of position just to fill the striker role (Serginho), that's a clear sign that more depth is needed. No disrespect to Serginho, he is a fantastic and very versatile player, but this shouldn't have to fall to him.

Well, since it's something important, say it twice once you remember it.

Some of the hardcore Milanista that I know, do not want him back, and if Milan do happen to win the CL, that will be no doubt reinforced. So they want the club to get a younger fellow.

TBH I wouldn't mind if you guys took him back, he is better suited for Italian football, even though I want him to succeed at Chelsea he has a limited amount of time.

Sheva doesn't really deserve to come back on the way he left us, and I doubt he will. Because if his wife is controllng him like she did last year, he won't come. I jsut hope Milan doesn't wait to long. We can't fall short again THe best place for Sheva is to go back to Kiev, IMO.
I am still bitter over it, and i quite frankly couldn't care less if he doesn't come. He played fantastic football with us for 7 years, and I am greatful for it. But that is in teh past. Time for Milan to net another younger forward.

I wonder, did Milan release Galliani's "we're saving a space for him" thing to the website just to test the waters with the fans and see if everyone is as fiercely against Sheva's return as they were in the past?
To be honest I don't even see why Milan is obsessing over Sheva when there is such a vast number of other strikers we could choose from. And most of them would be cheaper. And younger, as has been said.

Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko has quashed the latest speculation linking him with a move back to Milan.
The Ukrainian joined the Stamford Bridge outfit last summer in a £30m move, but has struggled to settle.
He was again paired with a Rossoneri reunion this week, but the former European Footballer of the Year insists he’s happy in the English capital.
“I do not regret my decision to leave Milan. It was down to me and I thought about it deeply,” said Shevchenko in an interview to the Sun.
“I knew it would be hard to adapt after so many years in Milan, but I would just want people to leave me the time to acclimatise and then you will see,” added the 30-year-old.
“I like London a lot and I feel good there. I am learning a new culture and a new way of living.
“It’s a new club and a new life for me. I certainly am not the first man to have trouble adapting to the Premiership.”
Reports in England have suggested that another problem for Sheva is his relationship with teammate Didier Drogba, who has allegedly accused him of being too selfish on the field of play.
“Football is a team game above all and we are both working to attain the same goal. Didier is having a terrific season and I am delighted about it,” explained the 2004 Golden Ball winner.
“He and I have very different playing styles. That’s what explains why we don’t have the same scoring statistics. In any case, I have never doubted my ability to find my best form again.
“We are all after the same objective — winning for the team and for our fans,” concluded the former Dynamo Kiev ace.
The striker underwent surgery on Tuesday to solve the hernia problem which ruled him out of the Champions League semi-final with Liverpool.
The operation was originally pencilled in for the end of the season but was brought forward. Shevchenko will therefore miss the FA Cup Final against Manchester United on May 19.

Carlo Ancelotti has come out into the open, confirming, “Milan will do everything possible to bring back Andriy Shevchenko.”
The Ukrainian demanded a £30m transfer to Chelsea last summer after seven years at San Siro, but has not settled in at Stamford Bridge and has now denied telling ‘The Sun’ that he is happy in London.
“Adriano Galliani made our position very clear,” commented Ancelotti in today’s Press Conference.
“It remains a difficult operation financially, even if Milan will do everything possible to bring him back. He is owned by Chelsea and their intentions are the main factor here.”
The Rossoneri have always said they’ll keep the door open for a shock comeback and have even invited Shevchenko to Athens as their guest for the Champions League Final against Liverpool on May 23.
