I know for a fact that the average Milan fans would have it very difficult to forgive him. Milanfans are very proud fans so if a player that was on his way of becoming a legend joins a club without a history and just for the money then that hurts a lot.

He lied to the fans, I don't expect them to forgive him.

By the same token, he has fullfilled his end of the bargain. He helped Milan win. His reasons for leaving where because of his family, unless othewise stated by him, we should give him the benefit of the doubt.

I don't actually see a problem with his reason for leaving (although it is highly suspicious) but the fact is that he told the fans he wasn't going to leave then he did. I mean he was in the Curva Sud just weeks before his move. I just saw it as a slap in the face.

Had he been totally honest from the start he could have saved himself a lot of hassle.

He will always have that connection with Milan, if not for the glory years of his career, because Berlusconi is his son's godfather.

He will show his worth in England, he just needs time. Look at Drogba.

Be honest though, it's a pretty crap reason.

His wife wanted the kids to grow up in an English speaking country, WTF?

We're talking about a mans career being sacrificed so he kids can learn English, I don't buy it.

He went for the money in my opinion.

I don't know, really I don't.

The first love should be his children, and I don't think its crap at all. He said that he is friends with Roman, and he gave the family reason.

I think its legit. I don't think he forced the move for more money. I honestly don't believe that.

And even I know that Sheva can be a real cock on the pitch, but off the pitch he is a class guy.

Well either way I think you can understand why the Milan fans are so pissed, from their point of view it looked pretty bad.

Nick, no offense but com'on you have to be really naive to buy his story. He wanted his kids to learn Italian. That's fair enough and understanadble but there are plenty of English schools in Milano. If so many Italian based posters on several forums I post on were able to learn English as good as most of them have then I don't understand why Sheva's kids wouldn't be able to, especialy with all the cash he has to hire private tutors.

He used the family issue as an excuse to earn more money, it's as simple as that.

Its your team, his wife is English, is she not?? Its niave to think that she doesn't want to return home.

Secondly, you mean to tell me that he did not approach Silvio about earning more money???? I find that hard to believe, that the move was just money as you so put it.

This guy was a true Milanista, then all of a sudden he takes off?? For just money?? MOney that he could of got from the club??

I don't know....

The circumstances on which Sheva left was one that is dodgey. I for one wasn't pissed at the fact he left (ok maybe a little) but more on the way he left. He came out onto the Milan site and said, that he had had enough of those Chelsea rumours and said he wasn't leaving. A week later he did. No goodbye... nothing. And now he is paying the consequences.

Sheva's wife is American, so she isn't exactly returning back to her home country. But as mentioned, if they really wanted their children to speak English there are international schools in Milano that actually do speak English, and he can take them to tutors too.

Milan were already paying him a lot of money, so the chioce of leaving for money is also to a certain extent far fetched. But this is chelsea and Roman Abromovich. He gave him a million other luxeries.

You also have to question his timing of his transfer. Milan were brought into he calciopoli scandal, know one knew if we were going down or staying in Serie A. This also could have played a factor as he might not have been ready to sacrifice, playing in Serie B. If he really wanted to move for the money, or what not. He could have done it the yea before. But now with Calciopoli you can't help but think if that is one of the reason he left!

All good points.

I don't think anybody denies that Sheva and Roman's relationship played a huge part in this.

To Americans, England is close to home.

Second, the salary cap?? Self imposed salary cap which I'm sure can be "self adjusted".
