Kaladze was quoted.

Maybe he didn't want to leave because he loves Milan? He was there for seven years for goodness sake and he was third in the all time scorers list.

Kaladze has admitted that Milan need Shevchenko and that Shevchenko needs Milan.

Milan certainly need Sheva.

Mourinho has stated that Shevchenko isn't untouchable even though in his mind there are nine untouchable players in the current squad.

...yeah, keep in mind that Crespo was crap for them also, but he has regained form, so don't write him off just yet.

Crespo wasn't crap for Chelsea, in fact his goal to game ratio was quite impressive.

Shevchenko is still adjusting in my opinion but now that he's 30 he'll never be as good as he was for Milan.

Drogba is only starting to catch on now after a few season in England. Essien is starting to show his worth a yr later. Y is Sheva any different? Especially since he has played the majority of his career in another league.

Probably because Shevchenko went with the biggest reputation and the biggest transfer fee of all three.

I see the point you're making but for what Chelsea paid you would have expected more.

Firstly Drogba was awesome throughout: Most assists in the League and good goals.
Essien was always amazing for us last season, now he's out best player.
Crespo had an awesome goal to game ratio and always scored important goals so don't say he was crap for us.

My point being Drogba is only now begginning to show his worth (with his price tage in mind).
Essien of this season and the Essien from last season r 2 different players. He is far more consistent this yr than he was last.

My point being, it took both of those players at least 1 season to get into the groove. People shouldn't count out Sheva just yet. He is still adapting.

I disagree, I just think it was a poor buy.

The fact is that Chelsea paid £30m for a 30-year-old player who, well lets face it, won't be getting any better. Shevchenko is in decline and he'll never reach the heights he reached with Milan again. Strikers peak at a much younger age than any other position and as far as I'm concerned Sheva has had his time.

The fact that the club bought a player that doesn't have any pace (and never has) hasn't helped either. He just looks out of place in the Premiership.

Drogba awesome? Adequate is more accurate. He did just enough not to be sold in my opinion, only now can you say he looks awesome.

It always takes a season to get used to the premiership, even for the greats like Henry it took him 18months.

Drogba still kept players like Eidur, Kezman, Crespo, Mutu out of the team so I'd say he was doing just fine.

I'm not worried about Sheva, if he's still like this after Christmas I will be but for the moment he's doing alright.
